Jago and Litefoot vs. the Master. Re-listen. I remember listening to this last time when I was tired on a long train journey. Back then, I thought it was okay. Today, in a better mood and more awake, I actually liked this quite a bit. I hope that they soon do another sale on these so I can plug my gaps...

Its going so well but still dealing with a hypnotised Jago and Quick is still so frustrating for him Regards mark687

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Roof Of The World.
Doctor plays cricket... check Peri indulges in some US/UK banter... check Peri also references English lit classic... check Peri namechecks Howard and archaeology but not her own speciality, botany... check Erimem mentions she is a pharaoh... check Season 19 continuity mention... check Character believed to be dead... check Evil villain impersonates the fifth Doctor... check Turn off story before end of the second episode... check
As we say here in Australia... yeah, nah.

Started on Bloodtide. Enjoying myself so far- I was a bit afraid about the portrayal of Darwin, but so far it is not too bad. Evelyn and Sixie again are a great team. Love how Evelyn is not the least worried about Sixie getting into trouble.
Plus, may I repeat how good Colin is at what he does?

After finally finishing the eight hour journey that was the audio adaptation of The Graveyard Book (Still cracking stuff which I would highly recommend) I am now slowly but steadily making my way through the rest of the Magnus Archives.
I love how subtle the world building is in this even if each report comes across as merely self contained horror stories.

That’s true too🤔 but I still wouldn’t mind seeing how it would work with him on his own as a one time experiment 😉 Well, they do it in Hunting Ground (which is quite fun), Iron Bright (which I did not like that much) and of course Vampire of the Mind (which I again enjoyed). Although, he has one time companions in all of those.
But still, he works best with his team of favorite companions. Although throwing Charley into the mix was an interesting choice.
I am curious how the stories with older Peri work out in the upcoming boxset. She certainly won't take his bullsh*t anymore. Could be really interesting. I wonder if she will be closer to Evelyn?

Ahh Evelyn was so good. She was such a terrific foil to Colin's Doctor, they worked so very well together. Continuing my pre-Stranded re-listen, today I got through Doctor Who: Ravenous 1. Doctor Who: Ravenous 2 for me today! Just done revisiting Doctor Who: Ravenous 3

After a long break from it, I am back on Jago & Litefoot. I listened to series 6 quite a while ago, on one of my daily walks back in March when everything was shut down. Just finished series 7 today. Next up: The Scorchies.

Next up: The Scorchies. Oh man. The Scorchies tease at the very end of series 7, how they do their quick musical number and then it's just silence in the Red Tavern and someone drops their glass, gets me every time, I can't help but laugh no matter how many times I hear it

Shadow of the Sun - I suppose this will become known as 'the lockdown story'. As such, it is great, proving that BF really can create a luxury star-liner in deep space perfectly well from a variety of living rooms. The story itself is good rather than great, I think. It is always good to get some bonus Fourth Doctor and Leela.

I'm having a bit of a Big Finish binge recently after a break. Sometimes I find it's necessary to do that, I'm not sure why.
'The Peterloo Massacre.'
This has been heralded as a BF classic and it isn't hard to hear why. Peter Davison is such an excellent actor. Like many Doctor Whos, especially classic series ones, I can't help but feel he's a little underrated - probably because he makes it look/sound so easy. I've been reading his book 'An Actor Despairs', and I get the impression he feels a little hemmed in by his 'nice guy' image. When he gets the chance, he proves he's utterly convincing when furious (the Fifth Doctor would be a prime candidate for a kind of 'Time Lord Victorious' offshoot - a power-mad, crazed Fifth Doctor would be pretty amazing, I think).
Paul Magrs magnificently paced story certainly gives him reason to lose his temper, and his performance is one of many highlights of a story that never fails to electrify.
It's always good to come back to Big Finish.
