Recently I have listened to:
Dark Eyes 4: It’s been a while since I listened to Dark Eyes 3 but I was able to get into this one easily. All of them were decent, but the standout for me had to be The Monster of Montmartre, which had one of the most unusual and memorable uses of Daleks I have ever experienced!
Brotherhood of the Daleks Another very unusual Dalek story! I am still not sure I completely understood everything that happened although it was worth it to hear the Daleks sing to the tune of “Oh Christmas Tree”!😄
The Tenth Doctor and River Song I am of two minds on this one. I have very very mixed feelings on River Song, mostly because her overly suggestive fem fatal “spoilers” shtick only works for me in very small and spread out doses and (yes, this is very nitpicky and petty of me) it constantly annoys me that she got a happy ending with the Doctor over other love interests who I think where just as if not more deserving than River. I do like her character and Alex Kingston does a brilliant job playing her , I just think River (the character) overstays her welcome sometimes. 10 is my second or third favorite Doctor ( he used to be my favorite but then 12 bumped him down a few) but, I haven’t been too in love with his BF stories because they seem too surface level, inconsequential and not always very memorable compared to his tv output. So needless to say I was slightly skeptical going into this set. I did end up liking this set for the most part. Many lines and a lot of the banter between 10 and River actually had me laughing out loud! I especially liked Expiry Dating, which had a unique framing device for a heist story! Precious Annihilation, was just a runaround but a fun runaround with lovely exotic locations. Ghosts, reminded me a lot of a cross between Silence in the library/forest of the Dead and under the lake/before the flood. I thought I knew exactly what the twist was as soon as they introduced the side characters but then it twisted things a bit further! I was almost mad at myself for not guessing the twist but I am glad it was a bit more complex than I thought. I thought it was interesting how all through out the boxset they foreshadowed River’s fate in Forest of the Dead, it was a bit repetitive but darkly effective. I enjoyed this boxset, it was still a bit light weight but I enjoyed it more than 10’s other output! River was pretty good even if she did get on my nerves slightly. It’s odd even though I actually like when the Doctor flirts and gets romantic it always annoys me slightly it’s with River, I guess it’s because I prefer it when it’s with other love other interests(Clara). All this to say I liked this boxset for the most part even if it annoys and frustrates me in places.

River and 10 stories need to be spaced apart not part of a Box Set individual releases in my opinion spaced apart a definite for me of less is more. The Doctor In Love 😎😳. Well you know my opinion on that hahaha

I guess when I say “happy ending” I am more just bitter about Husbands of River Song happening directly after Hell Bent.

There is love and there is love....I tend to think of the Doctors love as being above human love...in that case he/she loved many but is man/woman enough to know the consequences of falling in love with someone his/her lifestyle being so complex....the only person the Doctor didn’t love is perhaps Mathew from the Sixie adventure Lure of The Nomad lol

Also am sure he deliberately got rid of Rose into the other dimension with the other Doctor ..... saved a lot of complex issues 😂

As I finished off the EDAs on Monday, in/around town today I made a start on the first 'Dark Eyes' boxset (my second listen of the year).
I just about finished part 3 before my dictaphone's battery died & am currently listening to the finale.

MR: The Genocide Machine. I've heard it loads of times but like a good pair of undies I find it comforting.

It sure is Winter it is freezing and Icy and time to Cosey up with my duvet so searching My Wall Of Sounds I was drawn to A box set luckily my sets aren’t grouped together helps with the randomisation listening process. No fan of Torchwood as you all know and total lover of Counter Measures but there it was in between Dark Eyes2 and Murder On The Orient Express...
3-UNIT:Silenced-Matt Fitton/John Dorney
the Silence were a great Foe in the Who Universe a true creepy at times and here they are once again in very capable hands. The Unit team Kate,Osgood etc all work well together again was it 2016 geez time is passing so fast nowadays ....so I know this one I have enjoyed and with the best of Intentions I was going to go with A Jago and Litefoot but I know now well into first story HOUSE OF SILENTS-Matt Fitton that I will end up continuing the set all the way through
