Onwards and upwards....
Ravenous 1-How To Make A Killing In Time Travel-John Dorney
got an apple crumble in the oven and some custard to go with it I enjoy a day away from healthcare ,feet up ,performing a mental emptying of all the crap gathered through the week and able to listen or watch anything I want...there are some benefits to being single at times, today I won’t complain
there is my poor Helen iN the clutches of a dastardly villain...and two stories in and she still isn’t rescued (but we knew that) In relistening there’s something about this story that I think required it to be longer...I love black comedy elements in Who perhaps goes with my own sense of humour.

More randoms I went for a walk after my apple. Rumble and custard to watch the Christmas Lights....around the Abbey...so Beautiful but eerily quiet but added a nice atmosphere ....chilly evening too.
On returning though I yearned for a Fourth Doctor adventure what a coup it was for the little fanboy in me when BF bagged Tom Baker so between MCLEVY VOLUME3 and BBC Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes Box Set was
4th Doctor Adventures Series 7 Volume 1
7.3-The Mind Runners/7.4-The Demon Rises-John Dorney
it is good to revisit stuff definitely I remember wanting to hear Josette Simon oh if only she had done some BF Big Finish she is such a great vocal but alas....the voice treatment really annoyed me

On the way to/from work today I've been listening to 'Better Watch Out'/'Fairytale Of Salzburg', which I think I enjoyed more than I did last time. (Not to say that I haven't always enjoyed it, because I have, but given today was Krampus Night, Iiiii had a certain appreciation for it today of all days...)

Listened to Expiry Dating from 10 and River, and then I had to listen to the second story Precious Annhilation because it was Lizzie Hopley so rather than saving it, I couldn't resist. Both really good - in fact, I'm surprised that I enjoyed Lizzie's story as much as I did because I'm usually not all that keen on stories set aboard a ship but it was really good.
Then I went back to Time Apart which I still haven't finished (seem to be saving up a few MRs for a rainy day since the range is ending) and listened to What Lurks Down Under, not realizing what I was getting myself into. Also a very enjoyable story but I'd have enjoyed it more if I hadn't listened to it right after Precious Annihilation, my mind started to wander a little bit and I missed a couple of important events. It might get another listen soon so I can appreciate it with a better perspective, but it certainly gets big points for a supporting character you can warm to so quickly that somehow you don't really mind the regulars not being present.

I don’t think it was a brilliant standout story but much better to hear her without tinkering with her voice...and glad she decided to Enter the BF fold And she at least didn’t sound like Dayna but another character but I think a more powerful performance than in Mindrunners..and it was great to see her on the cover too. I have to be honest it broke my wee heart that she didn’t want to do Blake but I really hope she will do a future Liberator Chronicles and hopefully her and Glynis as a two hander and as usual you know what am going to listen to Sarana Teel again...dressmaker extraordinaire

CDNM-The Sontaran Ordeal-Andrew Smith again a story that doesn’t ridicule the Sontarans (as it should be)Josette Simon(Of Blake’s 7 fame) gives a powerful performance (with a voice untinkered with). Her casting off of our favourite Timelord and her desperate search for her Children are well portrayed.Starkey and Ryan give good performances as the Sontaran clones....and once again the fluidity of futures and actions of those engaged in the Time War or even on its fringes is well written

It comes across as atmospheric and well realised. The 'twist' to put an older Nyssa to the return on Tegan is a good premise. It starts off a good arc, which I felt was never developed that much or given the opportunity to develop in the way that it could have done. The Emerald Tiger and The Entropy Plague are probably the other two highlights from this run.

Just finished off The Stones of Venice. I really love this one and always have. The cast are superb, great atmospheric setting and the music is good as well (pity BF didn't give the audio track in those days). McGann is in his stride here and the enthusiasm this incarnation has for the universe is infectious. The story is excellent as well - perhaps a bit slow to start, but the final episode is fantastic. Definitely the best story out of that first range of EDAs.

Have a great fondness for both The Cradle of The Snake and The Prisoners of Fate in the older Nyssa Run pondering, while sipping a fine Columbia’s coffee via my recently purchased Nespresso machine to take advantage of the fact that nae cafes are open lol... Just relistening to a lot of the stuff and especially comparing to Clara how lovely I think it would have been if she had just been a straightforward companion and not the mess I think they made of her character.I mean a lot of the previous companions didn’t need massive story arcs and mysteries and are very fondly remembered by myself and stand out regardless...I mean Tegan was not integral to the WEB OF TIME and stands out .Sarah Jane no massive mystery behind her but more important to the Doctors history than Clara or even Amy.If The TV series had just focused on straightforward one off adventures I think it would have been the better for it.If Anything the writers of BF have proved that there is true life in the series without all of those meaningless arcs or presumed cleverness... sorry coffee was strong 😉

Her quote in Logopolis about the Watcher - 'He was the Doctor all the time', is something that suggests far more (as does the fact that the Watcher collects her/saves her from the destruction of Traken). Her relationship with the Master is also very complex...

Halfway through Invaders from Mars (skipped Minuet from Hell for the moment). It's an entertaining romp and is very Gattis (if that makes sense). The cod-NY/American accents are little bit of a stretch for me. I like the premise of the story.
Good symmetry with Storm Warning though - people not who they say they are, war brewing in the background, stopping humanity getting technology it shouldn't... Have only just notice this...

3DA 1.2 The Havoc of Empires
(-_-) (~_~) (~_-) (-_~) (~_~)! (~~_~~) !!
Oh couldn't you understand my Delphon? Sorry, my eyebrows must be a bit slow this morning. To translate, it's another very Third Doctor story to complete his first box set, all intrigue, diplomacy and interstellar political goings-on in the best traditions of the Peladon stories or the Draconians. And Jo is brilliant! Isn't she always?
Vol 1 was a hugely successful 'experiment' for BF and very soon we'll have eight volumes of 3DAs - 16 new stories in all, that's about two and a half extra Third Doctor seasons measured in classic Who terms. Excellent - more please!

Well the saga continues.....wee detours here and there but still on track
I may be one of the few who actually enjoyed the original Kandyman ........
Ravenous 1-World of Damnation-Matt Fitton
Finally Helen has returned after two episodes without her...she really is the underrated companion, kind caring and loyal to think she tries to soothe the 11 ..... ok bit stupid but hey it’s in her nature.
