MR Listen Through Update
NO 8 Red Dawn-NO 27 The One Doctor
So 2 Weeks into the MR Listen Through and I've reached the end of 2002
2/ 3 more strong Companion Debuts. Some Excellent Historical based stories. A couple that see Seeds for future narrative sown. Also the 1st outright Classic as well as the 1st of very few duds IMO.
Regards

Over the past few days I've been listening to 'Moonflesh'. Whilst I doubt it will ever be in anyone's top 10, that was certainly a decent enough pseudo-historical story...
On the way home from work I made a start on 'Tomb Ship' (I have a few minutes of part 2 left to listen to before bed), which is intriguing enough so far.

I was a BF newbie and way behind on the Monthly Range. All the talk on the forum about how much people disliked it, so I had very low expectations when I finally got around to listening to that story a couple of years later. I thought it was pretty good. A lot of tension and some real baddies. It was an enjoyable listen.

I'm not quite sure why or how it but it gives me the extraordinary sense of actually being on board an alien ship like nothing since Terminus and with Terminus it was the set visuals that gave me that.

I also think Tomb Ship is pretty good. Yes, it has an over-the-top villain and her cliched band of sons (of varying levels of intelligence) but I like them.

I will admit that I've only listened to the trilogy once and, from what I can remember of it in full, I can remember at least enjoying all three of them... I made a start on part 3 of 'Tomb Ship' before bed and will probably be finishing the whole story off during my walk into town later.

Around town today I finished off the last episode (and-a-bit) of 'Tomb Ship'. Whilst I did feel like it could maybe have been a few minutes shorter, it was a pretty decent release!
'Also listened to the first half of 'Masquerade', which I'm certainly enjoying so far!
