The Scream of the Haunted Mask (R.L. Stine)
Read by Kate Simses. The sound design in this is suitably effective but I can’t help but feel that the Haunted Mask in this isn’t so much evil as more of a pain in the backside. It doesn’t help that, as far as I can remember, this retcons the origin of the Mask but then still retains some elements from its original debut novel making it rather a contradiction.

Little Doctors (Phillip Lawrence)
An amusing little tale which could only have been told in the era of the Second Doctor.

The Tenth Doctor and River Song
Hello Sweeties! - that was a first listen worth waiting for! Three stories, all excellent and one totally brilliant. River and Ten are just perfect together, only the TARDIS could fit both their personalities in at the same time. Loved it.

The New CM: The Splintered Man.
I've just noticed the cheeky tannoy announcement near the end, 'Last call for Chameleon Airlines...'

A Star is Born (Richard Dinnick)
Reminded me a great deal of those old prose stories you used to get in the old Doctor Who stories. I don’t exactly think this is completely in keeping with the First Doctor’s era though considering how much control the Doctor seems to have over the TARDIS in this.

Little Grey Rabbit Stories (Allison Uttley)
Read by June Whitfield. Look, I know, but considering the state of the world at the moment sometimes you just want to listen to stories about innocent animal folk living in the woods, you know?

Breaking Bubbles and Other Stories.
Some really strong stories in this one. ‘The Curious Incident of the Doctor in the Night-Time’ is by far my favourite.

It’s a very sombre moment all things considered and really shows that historical stories can have a greater purpose than simply being a playground for the Doctor and co to run around in. Janet Henfrey is terrific in this as well.

Arabel’s Raven (Joan Aitken)
Read by Bernard Cribbins. Thought this was simply lovely and had I discovered this in my youth it’s certainly one I would have gone back to. A real testament to Joan Aitken’s skill as a writer that Mortimer (said raven) is a great character and yet only utters about two words throughout the entirety of the thing.

BBC AuDio-Doctor Who-Warriors of The Deep-Johnny Byrne
don’t think I don’t appreciate the tv version but it was ruined for me by the Myrka and as much as I like her in it the stupid whatever it was death scene of Ingrid Pitt.It may not be a LOST story but I recently picked up the BBC AUDIO version and what do you know on audio it’s darker and meaner but my lighting and cameraman skills have been enhanced with years of BF lol

The Home Guard (Simon Guerrier)
Much better on a second relisten. James Dreyfus actually is rather effective as the Master in this and you do get the sense that his incarnation is slowly developing into the egotistical psychopath we all know and love. Hopefully we’ll see more of this development come his inevitable appearance in the Fourth Doctor Adventures.
Must admit though the mystery is far better than the reveal. Although the action is very well done.
