Nekromantiea The worst piece of Dr Who ever. Strong Contender certainly Regards mark687 I’d love to see someone try and rewrite it some day. For how dreadful it is, I think it has some decent ideas in it. Shame the execution was so poor.

Oh yes at the time us "Old School" mob thought it the bones of an "Andorzani" type story just though as you say, it was poorly executed. Regards mark687

Finally got around to listening to Return of the Cybermen. It was good. I liked it alright. The performances are what sells it for me. There was sadly less Sadie Miller than I would have hoped for because she does a remarkable job, but that still allows for plenty of Christopher Naylor and thank goodness too - there were moments I entirely forgot he wasn’t actually Ian Marter. It’s sort of a Tim Treloar situation where it’s not EXACTLY exact, but the performance and the cadence fill in the gaps in your head. It’s all helped too by Tom Baker who just sounds like he walked off the set of Season 12. Just compare his performance here with his earlier stories with Big Finish and you’ll swear those earlier stories were recorded years later. Tom’s voice has lost years! The story itself felt a tad generic, though. I’m kind of tired of this portrayal of the Cybermen. Not necessarily the performances - Nick Briggs is great as always - but just the emphasis on the destruction and less on the whole “you will be like us” angle. It’s certainly a step up from Revenge of the Cybermen, I’ll definitely give it that. I also like that this story could function as a complete replacement for that story too. I actually really hope Big Finish capitalizes on that in the future with the Lost Stories or with the separate ranges for the Doctors. It’d be fun to get an alternate final story for the Third Doctor for instance like the fan-made The Final Game or maybe an alternate departure for a companion or two. I’m not sure how many situations there are like Return of the Cybermen, but I’m aware there was an alternate script for The Pyramids of Mars and there was also a story set in Victorian England that was supposed to introduce a new companion before Leela was introduced. Stuff like that, if it’s plausible to commission into full scripts, would be real fun to see the Lost Stories tackle.

The Iron Legion (Alan Barnes)
A brilliant adaptation with some nice additions to the story on the part of Barnes.
However unlikely it might be I do hope we’ll be getting more Comic Strip Adaptations in the future.

Finished bingeing all of the Iris Wildthyme releases from Wildthyme at Large to Wildthyme Reloaded.
The first stories are fairly ridiculous, but it gets better as it goes along and there are some good stories along the way.
All the adventures you could wish for about our trans-temporal adventuress.

MR 156 The Curse of Davros
Totally brilliant Dalek historical and (it almost goes without saying for a Jonathan Morris story ) there's a twist! And it's a beauty but I'm sure I was not alone in guessing it only a short way in - although that is a compliment to the actors; they are so good, they bring the real personalities of their characters to life - even under very unusual circumstances!
{Spoiler} And "The Doctor" did-not contract when he spoke. Normally he would-not be so formal. Therefore it was clear it was-not him, was-it-not? (If it sounds like Davros... )

The Hunting Ground (AK Benedict)
I like parts of this but I think the overall story is a bit disappointing and the cliffhangers are simply dreadful.

Peril, performers and pigs - in space! John Dorney brings home the bacon with yet another totally brilliant story. Loved it.

4DAs 4.5 Suburban Hell
Filling in a few gaps in the only earlier 4DA series which I've heard almost all of, and this was a gap with a difference! Now, I've never seen the 70s play 'Abigail's Party' which I gather this story has some fun with, but that didn't matter at all. I grew up in the 1970s so that was even "better".
Fun, completely nuts and timey-wimey. With a fondue set! Of course there's a fondue set in 70s suburbia.
I was a little disappointed there wasn't a malevolent Hostess Trolley, a deadly Spacehopper and a Serving Hatch of Doom as well, but you can't have everything. Yup.
Classic dialogue -
THELMA: Soon it will become the most terrible monster. DOCTOR: What? But it won’t be a teenager for years.

This one was just so much fun. Really hope we get another story where Iris and Panda encounter another incarnation of the Doctor.
