“Duty of Care” should only ever be applied to 12 and Clara’s relationship. Often I feel as though this phrase gets thrown around generically with any Doctor/Companion relationship. I don’t think this phrase was meant to be just about any Doctor/companion relationship, it’s 12’s special way of saying “I love you” to Clara. She’s the most important person to 12 and made him who he is. This is his way of saying he will do anything for her.

There are more duds in Smith's era than there are in the 60s and 70s combined. Agree (though to be fair there are fewer Eps in the Smith Era) Regards mark687

12 and Clara are one of the best TARDIS teams in all of DW and they are 100% in love with each other.

This is going to sound really odd and nitpicky but it really frustrates me when ever I try to watch most Whotubers review Capaldi’s era especially when it comes to 12 and Clara’s time together. I haven’t found a single one who seems to understand their relationship and why it’s so important. I know I shouldn’t let it bother me, but even whotubers I normally really like, seem to either hate on Clara unnecessarily or completely miss all the rich emotional (not to mention romantic) subtext between them and completely misinterpret their relationship. I don’t know why it bothers me so much but it just gets really tiresome watching these takes. Even if they have really interesting analysis of everything else in these episodes they all seem to have the same tired take of either: Clara=bad or 12 is a grumpy “father/mentor” figure to Clara, who is “bossy and annoying”.
Everyone is of course entitled to their own opinion and I do enjoy hearing all kinds of different view points on DW, but I just wish for once I could find a whotuber who understands and appreciates the rich and multilayered romantic and deep bond 12 and Clara have for each other. It’s been something that’s been bothering me a while now to the point where I sometimes avoid watching whotuber videos on the Capaldi era because I know they will probably make me mad and/or frustrate me. If anyone knows of any whotubers who adores 12 and Clara as much as I do let me know?

Series 17 of Doctor Who is actually b***** brilliant!

As brilliant as Series 10 is, I feel like it’s missing something compared to Series 8 and 9. I know I am probably not in the majority as a lot of people say it’s a breath of fresh air, but I personally missed the drive, intensity, and passions that 12 and Clara’s relationship brought. Don’t get me wrong there is still a lot to love in series 10: the TARDIS team is really good, Missy’s character development, and the amazing World Enough and Time and the Doctor Falls. As brilliant as those elements are I actually really missed seeing 12’s journey and struggles that were more the focus of Series 8 and 9. Also Clara was such a big part of 12’s development and story, as well as being his soulmate and one of the most unique companions in the history of Doctor Who. It just felt like there was a massive hole in series 10, to me. Even though they are still good, I feel like the stories (other than the finale) became a lot more standard and less introspective and special. There was something so unique and different about Series 8 and 9 had that I really missed in Series 10.
Side note: I have to admit I was slightly annoyed that River got more nods in Series 10 than Clara. I hated Nardole’s line “and her name was River Song”, I just wanted to yell back “No her name was Clara Oswald!”I am sure Alex Kingston is a very lovely person, but I just wish Husbands of River Song didn’t exist. I wish that they kept in the scene where 12 plays Clara’s Theme in The Pilot and the scene in Knock Knock that nods to Hell Bent.
When and if Capaldi and Coleman come to BF one day, I would really like there to be at least one story where Clara (under a perception filter or using a false name) and 12 reunite at St. Luke’s University and have their relationship briefly reignited. Perhaps Clara could be undercover as a new professor and 12 could discover she is a fellow time traveler and they solve some sort of campus mystery together. Their feelings would come back for each other and although Clara could not tell 12 her true identity she would be tempted to say yes when he asks her to say. I feel like if a story like this did happen it would help the Series 10 era feel more connected to the rest of 12’s story also I feel like 12 and Clara could never truly stay away from each other.

If the Meddling Monk regenerated into a woman would they then go by the Meddling Nun?

If the Meddling Monk regenerated into a woman would they then go by the Meddling Nun? As he likes to tell people (especially Missy) 'I'm not a Monk!', so she might be only too pleased to get out of the habit. Though I've no idea what he calls himself even now, it's never 'I am the Monk and you will be mildly amused by me' is it?
EDIT: Oh yes, its 'Mortimus' isn't it. I think. Though the Doctor never calls him that?

If the Meddling Monk regenerated into a woman would they then go by the Meddling Nun? The Anarchic Anchorite 'I'm not religious! Not even a little bit! Not penitent nor hermity and I don't live in a cell.' 'You should do.' 'You know perfectly well what I mean Doctor, a monk's cell. I'm NOT a monk.'

Even though I can’t wait until the time when Capaldi hopefully eventually comes to BF, I will be very nervous about how they handle his era. Especially in regards to how they handle 12’s relationship with Clara. I really hope that they don’t mistakenly characterize it as a father daughter relationship. Even if it’s only hinted at I would like them to explore the very real romantic side to their relationship. There are so many different layers to their relationship still worth exploring.
Also even if they can’t get Jenna Coleman right away I will be very upset if they imply River is 12’s one true love. I am sure Alex Kingston is a very lovely person, and I will begrudgingly accept that River is the Doctor’s wife, but it would be wrong to imply that she is his one true love when 12 has such a strong romantic bond with Clara to the point where I don’t think his incarnation would be the same without her.
I know it may seem stupid but if BF doesn’t get 12 and Clara's relationship/Clara’s importance in 12’s life right it would probably upset and frustrate me enough to consider stopping listening to BF all together for a while.
I really hope when the time comes BF does get 12’s era right because I want to love listening to Capaldi’s return🤞
Sidenote: I really genuinely wish I could have a go one day and write at least one 12 and Clara script for BF. I have about a thousand ideas for stories with them that I think could be really compelling.
Does anyone else have any favorite DW characters/eras/storylines that they feel protective/nervous of how BF handles them? Sorry if this an odd question.

Hate to burst the balloon but i think Big Finish these days tends to avoid Romance with The Doctors in the audios (for example: The Tenth Doctor and Rose in Volume 2 was much more platonic then on TV) they even toned down the romantic side of The 8th Doctor to virtually non existent compared to The early days of The Enemy Within aka TV Movie, EDA Novels and Comics and The Audio Scherzo (the only time 8 said i love you to a companion) Realistically i think if Capaldi signed up it would either be Bill, River or Solo as Jenna Louise Coleman is a very busy in demand actor these days.

I don’t think they always avoid romance with the Doctor. Even if it’s further off I would like to think Clara will be back someday. Things can always change with how they approach things as well. “My balloon ” is staying fully intact😉
