There are so many people who aspire to write for Doctor Who both tv and BF I think they should offer both zoom and in person training programs, classes, workshops and apprenticeships where long time experienced DW professional writers (tv, BF, expanded universe) can mentor aspiring DW writers (preferably international so everyone who wants to has the chance) on how to write for official DW. It would be hugely popular and it could be a good training ground to find the next generation of DW writers.

That's a really sweet and lovely idea... unfortunately, and I hate to be that guy, it'd be far too difficult to actually implement. Look how much work has to go into the Paul Spragg alone, and that's for one person to write one short story. If you want another example, the BBC only does two windows for new writers a year, and that takes on many thousands more submissions for, maybe, about a dozen or so writers at the end. Even then, not all of them get work after.

Even then, not all of them get work after. Then there's the cost Oh, god, yeah. Money is where it all gets tricky. For one professional, we're talking in the hundreds, if not thousands of a currency of your choice. Spread across a number of people on numerous projects, it can add up pretty quickly for a company like Big Finish that also produce more audio ranges than I do fingers and toes. That's why applying to things like the Paul Spragg (with bonus Rob Shearman and co.) is a great opportunity. The applicant can essentially just walk in and submit. For a professional-grade production company, run to meet a profit, that's a less common practice than first appears. I would love, for instance, to be able to do a full novel range for Divergent Wordsmiths. That would be terrific. But, it's literally thousands of dollars worth of work for free (on just one manuscript alone), which has to be balanced with honouring paid contracts in the same field. If we didn't have to earn a living (or existed as energy beings devoid of such earthly concerns as hunger and hypothermia), there'd probably be a fair few of us who'd jump at the chance to run one for Who fans. Ah... To be independently wealthy... Or possess the secret to bodily transcendence, I guess...?

Just read a fan theory on Reddit..A theory that River Song's 2nd wife is Clara Oswald. So there is a line of dialogue in the episode "The Husbands Of River Songs" where River mentions being married to 2 women. River meets #12 and before knowing he is the Doctor and destined to meet him again, she states that he reminds her of her 2nd wife while he's hyper-analyzing their situation.. It goes on to say that it was in this season that Clara began acting like the Doctor and analyzing things like he would. At the end of her run on the show Clara is now traveling through time and space independent of the Doctor. There's a good chance they they would bump into each other at some point. As far as we know, Clara and River have never met, at least on screen. So there you have it. Clara and River Song are/were married.! Lock it in Jerry!

Be Sweet Dudes Regards mark687 I took a screen capture of the reddit page too on my mobile phone as evidence in case anyone wants to confirm what I typed out was pretty much word for word. It caused a bit of a debate between wife and I!

Be Sweet Dudes Regards mark687 What? I am being sweet! We all know how Timegirl feels about 12 and Clara and we all know how she feels about 12 and River. But River and Clara? Light the fuse and stand well back. I'm going to wager that she will hate the idea and once the red mist has settled come up with a lengthy and well reasoned post on just why she hates the idea. The popcorn is an optional extra. 🍿

Clara and River as much as I hate to admit it do have a few similar traits here and there and I could see where River would be attracted to Clara since she is basically a human Doctor. I still prefer Clara over River and maintain that 12 had a far stronger romantic connection to Clara. 12 and Clara are soulmates who each put themselves through hell for one another it would have been far more satisfying for those two to spend 24 happy years together before Clara went back to her death. I also said maybe a splinter Clara since I highly doubt post hell bent Clara is going to jump into a romantic relationship. Post hell bent, Clara has no memory wipe to clear the pain of the parting of her soulmate the Doctor. She may go adventures in her dinner but there’s a lot of memories of her and 12 she would have to deal with. I could Clara having some light rebound flirting with people but she will have her guard up because she would be afraid of a true long term relationship because of how things ended with 12. I think Clara would check in on 12 without him realizing who she was sort of as his guardian angel.

Also Mummy on the Orient Express dripped sexual tension.

I admire your persistence and enthusiasm always But honestly in Mummy, I think The Doctor has better chemistry with Perkins...and seems much more interested in keeping him around!
