I hate the idea of a six operator TARDIS. Only done by RTD so each actor could do something in the scene. Although The Monk had a slightly different model than the Doctors, he had no troubles. Romana had no problems piloting the TARDIS. Stinks of desperation! You hate anything and everything in the show since it's revival, why do you watch it? I watch for the plotholes. I find it hilarious that viewers ignore them. Doctor Who is like a car crash - you can't take your eyes off it.

No wonder you dont enjoy it, if you automatically went in to pick it apart

Doctor Who is like a car crash - you can't take your eyes off it. You watch it with the deliberate intent of disliking it? I watch some of what I regard as car crash TV, but I actually enjoy it, a guilty pleasure if you will, I can't detect any pleasure at all from the way you describe it, but if you do watch because you do enjoy it in some fashion, have you ever thought about posting about that?

My head cannon to explain why other Time Lords seem able to pilot their TARDIS solo is that it's specifically the Type 40 that needs six operators. Many/Most TARDISes require only one or two operators. Also, in my head cannon the Doctor has jerry rigged his TARDIS to (mostly) be flown solo. This is why Romana and River can pilot it solo. I admit this is completely my own interpretation, but it works for me. I think that's a rather elegant solution except I'm not sure why anyone designed such a relatively awkward contraption in the first place. I'm inclined to think Type 40s were made with special abilities and required six operators in agreement to prevent misuse of these special abilities and The Doctor has been the only one clever enough to hotwire one so that it will do anything without six participants. Very special god-like things (like planet towing) still require six operators. Now all I need is a reason they scrapped the Type 40s that sounds a little less slapstick then no six Gallifreyans being able to agree on anything :-)

Even if its canon. I can still dislike it! Yes, but it's your insistence that everyone else dislike it too that we find difficult.

I wonder if the six operators for a TARDIS is mentioned anywhere else. I can't recall having seen it elsewhere, and in most stories I've seen, heard or watched, a TARDIS has fewer operators. I hate the idea of a six operator TARDIS. Only done by RTD so each actor could do something in the scene. Although The Monk had a slightly different model than the Doctors, he had no troubles. Romana had no problems piloting the TARDIS. Stinks of desperation! I beg to differ. It was written into a Seventh Doctor Virgin New Adventure long before RTD decided to pick the idea up and use it. You may not like it, but the idea has been around for several decades now.

If you must hate anything, hate the VNA novel that introduced it rather than the series that pinched it over a decade after.

Can we calm down with the picking on Paulmorris7777? He isn't trying to force his views on anyone, he just says what he thinks. A bit bluntly perhaps, but he's entitled to have his opinion and to come here and share it.

As brians has pointed out, this was an unfair comment to make. I apologize for getting heated and rude in the moment.

"Let's just say that I'm a Doctor. There's more than one, you know. Clearly, I'm not the one you were expecting." -the 8th Doctor in 'The Eight Doctors' ''I'm a Doctor, but probably not the one you were expecting''- The 8th Doctor, TNOTD.

The Highest Science, as I said in the post that started this discussion.
