Can Tennant/Piper stories work with John Barrowman? "Utopia" seemed pretty explicit that the Doctor and Jack hadn't seen each other again since Eccleston left him behind in "Parting of the Ways."

CRAZY THEORY THREE: This is a War Doctor release, from Jack's missing years as a Time Agent, and Jackie doesn't realize that Eccleston's Doctor is the same man as Hurt's whom she met ages ago when Rose was an infant. Eccleston then later pretends to not know Jack because he's actively ignoring The War Doctor, and then finds out that Jack's had his memories wiped, so all's well that ends well for The Doctor. And The Doctor just straight up doesn't recall Jackie (you know how his memory gets about all the random people he's run into).

NEW WILD THEORY: It's for The Churchill Years Volume 2. I like this idea, but would have thought Ken Bentley might have directed if so

Steven Moffat will likely want to do it with his last series as showrunner.

I very much doubt it, not only is there a huge amount of loose ends that would lead to a very complex, incomprehensible to new comers series, he's all about creating openings for others to tell Who stories, sure he will probably finish off some loose ends, but I see no way at all, that all his threads will be neatly tied off. From Moffat, I'd expect more questions will be opened by his last series than will be closed by it.

That's no recording studio.
It's just some podcasters basement...
It's a kidnapped collection of stars...

EDIT: I'm tempted to believe series 3 of Torchwood will be a boxset and (possibly) containing 6 or so episodes (of 30 minutes)

I'm now thinking a series, surely John's spent too long in studio now for a boxset.

Already stated previously by BF that Short Trips are first 8 Doctors only. Cheers Tony Hmm...this gets more and more interesting... I wonder if BF will actually respect the canon of the New Series comics and books, with 9 that isn't so much of problem considering his small amount of storylines, but Tennant on the other hand... I actually think it's way easier to accidentally respect novel/comic canon with the New Doctors than the Classics. Most of the contradictions in the EU stem from things like directly following or leading into a specific story (which New Who stuff seems to avoid from what I've seen) or a companion's exit (ie. Ace) or something vast and unexplained (ie. season 6B) - there just aren't that many things in New Who and its EU stories to inspire such contradictions. Worst case scenario, they do a story with the Draconians and Donna doesn't mention Cold-Blooded War or something. Still something I personally think can be avoided with a line or two (and a quick Wiki search) but not the end of the world.

He has too many loose ends to tie up in one series. And like jasonward, I think it's unlikely he'll go back to anything from the Jackie-Rose era.

I think Captain Jack will be the exception for series 10 though because he was first featured in a Steven Moffat two parter.
