He has too many loose ends to tie up in one series. And like jasonward , I think it's unlikely he'll go back to anything from the Jackie-Rose era. I think Captain Jack will be the exception for series 10 though because he was first featured in a Steven Moffat two parter. Not at Moffatt's choice. Captain Jack's inclusion was all Russell's idea. He's mentioned several that "recurring characters should be used if they enhance the story not just because the fans like them." in fact I think the paternoster gang were only included in Deep Breath because it was felt there wasn't enough interactions between the Doctor and other characters that would make an audience engage with him in the first draft of the script. I wish BF would just announce whatever it is so i organize my next lot of pre-orders for purchase. Probably also a good idea because otherwise my hopes run away with me... Barely over the heartbreak of No Paternosters After All, and now I'm thinking patently crazy stuff like Jackie, Jack and Strax boxset. :-) yep it's my birthday on sunday.....need to have something to spend the birthday money on..... Happy Birthday!

That doesn't seem to be the case for River though, who he seems to be more than a little obsessed with. I'd rather have seen Captain Jack return in the last Christmas Special as opposed to River.

@scotthandcock tweeted: So if he works weekend, we may have an announcement on Monday Cheers Tony Given that Barrowman said he would be in Cardiff for a week and a half, I suspect no weekend working. But nice to be confirmed that the whole stint is for BF and nothing to do with the BBC as such. But I am left very curious, 7 days of recording, I mean, ignore that it's unusual for such a long stint, and consider even for a boxset recorded in one go, that's still huge...

BF could have several different projects that Captain Jack will feature in that they're recording all in a long block.

The Nintn Doctor comics seem to be dealing with Jack's missing memories. I don't think they'd be allowed to do that if Moffat was planning on dealing with it.

Definitely got to be 9th Doctor Companion Chronicles. I'll be shocked if they've got Christopher Eccleston to agree to some full cast audios.

It being related to the 9th doctor is just speculation at this point. That might be it but let's not jump to conclusions. It could also have something to do with Torchwood or something else entirely. Well whatever it is I'm excited

Seems far more likely to be Torchwood to me, lots of people associated with that show, very few associated to Who, occam's razor would suggest the Who actors are playing roles other than the ones they are known for in Who rather than Torchwood actors playing roles in Who.

So this Barrowman news, him recording with Camille Coduri, him recording with Kai Owen...it sort of makes me wonder if maybe there might be a "Churchill Years"-style set featuring Jack Harkness in the lead character position.

Looks like the lovely Sarah Douglas was also involved for whatever this is.

I was assuming that there was more than one thing going on this week and John Barrowman is involved in all of it (maybe some Who, maybe some Torchwood) so he's in Cardiff for the whole week.
But now I'm thinking that is not true. Seven consecutive days means seven hours of audio on one project. Some special event for Torchwood series 3? I mean Rhys, Jack and Ianto were all there and Camille very well could be playing someone else. I wonder when we'll know. Probably the end of the week, I should hope.
