This evening I saw 'Freaky' at one of my local cinemas. 'Not exactly the way I'd planned on spending my first Saturday evening off from work since the start of March, but it was nice to see this on the big-screen I must say (even if one of the teens sat a few seats down from me wouldn't stop checking her phone every 5-10 minutes). One quick question though - {Spoiler} It's Millie that can be linked to the six murders (and couple of attempts) throughout this film, and a couple of smaller things (but who's counting?), not The Butcher, soooooooo what's going to happen to her now that they've swapped back and the police inevitably do their investigation into it?

The Saint (1997)
Fairly entertaining even if it does bear little to no resemblance to Leslie Charteris’s’ original character.

Senna. Ayrton Senna was of course more than just a driver. If you watch it, you’ll see how and why.

Fear Street Part One: 1994. An enjoyable 90s set slasher that captures the era well, the soundtrack couldn't be more 90s & the cast are good although the deaths could have been a little more inventive. Looking forward to the next 2 parts to this trilogy set in different eras (1978 & 1666).

I was a little lukewarm on some of it (1994), and thought it was way longer than it needed to be....but I liked it enough that I'll check out 1978. I think that may on the docket tonight, for me.

What Lies Below, wtf have i just watched?, the plot had some interesting ideas but were poorly executed & the ending is utter twaddle & makes no sense.
90 minutes of my life i won't get back, need another lie down in a dark room, get my mindfulness CD ready.

Fear Street 1978 - Enjoyed the 1978 setting a lot more than 1994 (FWIW, I like Friday the 13th more than I like Scream, so that tracks). But ultimately I had the same issues with it that I did the first movie -- namely that it was way too freaking long, and this one even moreso than the first. I was bowled over when I checked the time after I'd already been bored for a bit, and discovered there were still 45 minutes left. These movies aren't awful, but I can't believe they couldn't find a competent editor (either script or film). Thus far, with both films....for the first 45m-1h I'd give them a 3-3.5 out of 5, but the way they both draggggg on for way too long, I struggle to give either of them more than a 1.5-2 / 5.
Midnight Diner 2 - Similar to the first Midnight Diner film...I'm not sure the format of the show lends itself to a 90+ minute runtime. One of the things I find so attractive about the TV series is that it's a series of bite-sized slices of life. That said, there was a bunch of really enjoyable stuff in this movie, especially the old lady story (which was the longest thing in the movie, no less.) Sad that I only have one season of the TV series left, I really really enjoy my little trips to the diner.

"Star Trek Generations". So many snotty remarks I could make, but I'll stick to one - when your helmsman needs replacing, particularly in a very dangerous and unusual situation, replace them with somebody who regularly flies your spaceship. Putting your girlfriend in the front seat just becuase she;s there and has nothing else to do will inevitably lead to your spaceship crashing.

The second the ship separated she fired up the impulse engines, but there wasn't enough time to get away before the core breach. In the shot where the stardrive explodes, you can clearly see that the saucer section's path is knocked wildly askew by the shockwave, and moments later when everyone's upright again after that impact and Riker demands a report, she says helm controls are offline. The ship was knocked into a ballistic atmospheric entry by the blast, and the same blast wave fried the proverbial steering wheel. Even Data--an android so advanced that even cyberneticists of the 2360s didn't truly understand how he worked--could only manage to fire up some thrusters to try to slightly level their descent.
