Halloween Kills - A little long in places, and very 'middle episode-y' in others (because, you know, it is), but, overall, I'm glad to have seen it... 'Went in blind (having missed the trailers, and only seen the original), but kept up ok. Venom 2; Let There Be Carnage - A simple (but pleasant) 94minutes... (Because not every Marvel related film needs to be around two-and-a-half hours with huge big laser battles at the end). It was nice to see Rosie Marcel in a Marvel film, I will say... Even if it was for all of 10-odd seconds. Ron's Gone Wrong - Sweet, that was actually kinda sweet...

"Halloween Kills".. Halloween 2 was 1 of my very 1st horror movies, must have seen that around 1985-1986 , been a fan forever and a day.. Why oh why do they still do the trope of hitting/stabbing him once and then leaving him on the ground?! Killing for him is like breathing for everyone else. I will have to think more about what I just watched, let it sink in..

I’ve met some tough pensioners in my time but the amount of abuse he has taken over the last few movies would take its toll on any sixty something year old.

Timeline wise he is 100% between 60-70 years old by now. Sitting in the psychiatric hospital not moving, muscles would atrophy there is no way he would be as strong as he appears to be. If we go by the 2018 movie and this one which pretty much ignores every other movie.. the amount of bullets in him, stabbings, beatings etc. The human body can only take so much.

Yeah, that would knock the wind out of anyone. Old age pensioner or not. Personally, I’d just call in the military and have done with him that way. But that would be a totally different film.

Universal Soldier Universal Soldier The Return "I'm all ears" Seen both at the cinema but the original is a fantastic action flick featuring two my favourite action stars. Oh and the final fight kicks ass.

Halloween Kills, been a fan of the franchise from aged 7 when i n the original on UK Tv premiere & i loved this movie. I like the story of mob justice, i enjoyed the flashback sequence which was very well done & i loved the gory kills, this is Michael Myers going full on carnage. Bit disappointed Laurie took a back seat in this one although i understand why because it sets up Halloween Ends but we got more scenes with Karen & Allison who take the lead more in this movie & it's good to see well written strong female characters without the wokeness shoved down moviegoers throat.
aussiedoctorwhofan , it's simple he's Michael Frickin Myers as Dr Loomis says he's pure evil, he is not human you can't kill the Bogeyman. 4/5

The Tragedy of Macbeth, Joel Coens unique retelling of the classic play, filmed in b&w 4:3 ratio on sets. Superb performances from Denzel Washington & Frances McDormand in a movie rich in brooding atmosphere with one of the creepiest versions of the 3 witches I've seen.

No Time to Die A great film. Did not feel 2hrs and 45mins long. Wish we'd had more of Ana de Armas though, she was a storm
The Spy Who Loved Me

The Final Purge (It's not as Frank Grillos back in the sixth instalment), had lot negative reviews but i enjoyed it & it certainly brings new layers to the franchise.

My cousin stuck Dubris Halloween with Adam Sadler on Netflix.
One of the worst movies I've ever seen, i could feel the lifeforce being sucked out of me watching this utter sh.t, i looked at my cousin who thought it was hilarious.
My cousins choice of what is funny is very strange.

Ted (2011)
Not the biggest fan of Seth MacFarlane’s work, but I thought this was hilarious.

Dune (2021)
A beautiful film, but a bit slow & ponderous
Tells the story better than the 1984 movie, but the casting choices are not great.
Epic most defiantly but not all that fun at times
But there’s no skirting around the fact that it’s half a story, a set up movie for a sequel that’s not even in post production……
Hope the sequel and proposed tv show actually get made, cause it’s good, very good , but is it great for me the 1984 movie casts it shadow,
Time will tell, if it’s the adults version of a Star Wars universe or another failed ambitious attempt
Not sure if I will be around to see the sequel, I just hope for those who are it’s worth it in the end

Not seen it yet myself but I have similar concerns. From the trailers it does look epic but maybe slow paced. The 1984 version is flawed but not as bad as it's reputation suggests.

The 3hour extended version of 1984 version makes a lot more sense in regards to storytelling, and unless you have read the book it takes a few watches to penetrate it. but it not a bad film, cast is far superior to new version but like the animated LOTR, northern lights & watchmen it’s almost there but just falls short expectation which taints peoples views its certainly worth watching but it is half a film with no satisfying break point.
