Plus Robert Redford is in it. Oh I'm sure it's a perfectly fine movie in it's own right, as you've said, it's just I'm a musical nerd and the remake isn't a musical so it's just not on my radar.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Exam_(1981_film)A 1981 cheesy schlock slasher "horror" movie. A mix of Halloween & Friday 13th.. It's almost "drinking game" bad.. acted, directed and written. With no motivation in any way whatsoever for the killer.. It's just a random series of scenes with stereotypical jocks, cheerleaders and the smart-as-a-whip "nerd".. Ironically he was the major influence for the character of "Randy" in the "Scream" movies. There was a movie novelisation released back then which has back character story and motivations explained (a pity None of this was in the movie).. will check eBay just to see if it's out there.. The motivation of the killer is explained to.

I'm watching the much maligned Halloween trilogy again! I enjoy the films more each time I view them. I know director David Gordon Green has received some flak for his ideas (nothing compared to his reimagining of The Exorcist though), but I'd say these three films are the best of the franchise (apart from the first one of course).

Since I am in love with the new Robocop game (which captures the spirit and humor of the movies perfectly) I have decided to re-watch the movie series. Started on the first movie and OMG! the nostalgia is palpable.
I yearn for that time when it was still possible to make a "woke" movie, with "woke" messages, without being "modern woke" (aka. the sledgehammer messaging I despise) and the movie is still considered a classic.

My first movie was either The Flintstones or Pocahontas.

The Star Wars Holiday Special I'd seen clips. I knew it was supposed to be bonkers. It's a different beast to actually experience it. An exhaustive experience, but worth it for the laughs.
In Brudges A very affecting black comedy.

Since Nimona is free on Youtube this week (it is Netflix film) I have started watching that. It is nominated for some awards and comes recommended by some friends. Well, it is an interesting movie with nice character work advocating the LGBT+ community and the rights of trans people.
