Anyone from BF reading this??? They shouldn’t be - everyone connected to this cascading series of errors should be working hard to fix it and everyone not connected should avoid it so as to not feel personally slighted.

I'm just gonna step back for a month or so and give them some time to fix all of these man, many problems they decided to dump on themselves. Soiled breeches don't clean themselves, after all.
Then I'll check back and see. If it's still this bad, I may send them a polite email, and then I imagine I'll *greatly* reduce my spending habits to just whatever I deem "absolutely essential." And, at present, exactly zero upcoming releases qualify as "absolutely essential" to me.
Fortunately my backlog is big enough to keep me going for at least a couple of years.
(EDIT: Don't mind me. I'm just thinking about how incredibly impressive it is that Big Finish has managed to make my whole attitude toward their company do a complete 180 in just this past year. The me from August of 2023 would never have imagined this would happen -- or so quickly.)
(EDIT2: Something fun I just noticed: Big Finish' website is not the first result of a google search for "Big Finish." It's not even on the first page! They've been around for 20 years: how is this even possible?)

Hm... so I went through my app to list out all of the audios in my backlog. There were, um... a few more than I thought. A full 129! A bit... much. There's not actually anything in the app to indicate that it's obsolete, which is weird: it can no longer download anything, but it doesn't even pop up an error message. How on Earth are Big Finish customers supposed to know they should be moving over to a new app? Do they just expect everyone to follow them on social media, or otherwise be active in communities like this one? Either way, it's truly asinine behavior. Doubly so if -- as I believe someone mentioned earlier -- the new app is incompatible with older versions of iOS.
And you can't even tell that there is a new app in the first place: only two show up in the app store, and both are listed as being (somehow?) 17+ years old. And is the other app a new version? Because the one I just downloaded sucks. Even moreso than the comments here led me to expect: it doesn't display at the correct aspect ratio for an iPad, and doesn't even fill up the whole screen -- you have to zoom in on the thing. All of the pricing shenanigans already had me very sore on Big Finish, but if this pile of frothy excrement is what they expect me to listen to their overpriced audios on -- y'all have been waaaaaay too generous with them if this is, in fact the new app -- then I am done.Oh crap. I use the used previous iPad of my brother- it is now 6 years old. Until now, the BF app was the only thing still working flawlessly.
So this means I have to buy a new iPad? Not sure this is happening.
And NO; I am not getting the app on my phone, space for one, and second, I find it extremely annoying to have the phone "ping" when I am relaxing. When I am relaxing, my phone (and with it my annoying work place) stays out of my living room. Important personal reasons to preserve what little sanity I have left.

I used to use Goodreader on my iPad to listen to BF audios. There appears to be a small charge for downloading the app (I don't remember if I paid for it). It worked well for me. Might be worth checking out to see if they have a version compatible with the iPad that you are using.
Alternatively, you should be able to listen to the stories on the iPad by adding them to the Music app.

So the app is disappeared from my iPhone- I can't redownload it.. it's "hidden". I go to the app store and click on it ..it brings up that magical screen that says :
"Something went wrong... we couldn't load your library. Let's try again".
the physical square emoji thingie has disappeared from my phone. GGRR

So yeah, the new app needs iOS 16. I have an old phone I use for running (don’t want to risk shiny new one) that can’t use the new app.

I'm still missing some orders, especially recent ones, but have now downloaded all the DRM-free files for the downloads I can access. 440GB, nearly 700 audios. Phew! Only feasible for me to do because a few weeks ago we upgraded from ADSL to part fibre. It was still excruciating, with the Big Finish website often timing out or erroring in the middle of me working through the long lists. So I'd have to go back to the start and try again. I kept it as manageable as possible by searching for series titles, like "Doctor Who" (bit all encompassing, but hey it worked! I also downloaded in groups sub series like the Tenth Doctor and Fourth Doctor adventures), "Sapphire", "Bernice Summerfield" and more. The site would then show me these in alphabetical order, so I could start downloading, and note my progress as I went. Then tried all the other Big Finish titles I could think of (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Doctor_Who_spin_off_audio_plays_by_Big_Finish was a handy reminder of some ranges I'd forgotten, but had some of). Then in the end I did the dreaded go through all the pages of 5 titles at a time, bonkers order, 140 pages worth for me. Which still errored out part way through. But I think at 1-6am UK time the website was a bit less loaded than some of the time. The Big Finish programmers had probably also gone to bed ... I sat up overnight to get it finished, once and for all.
Anyway I am feeling a lot happier I have these down now. I am saving them to 4 different places. My husband is going to sort out a Unix shell script to pull out the names from the "- ab" folders to rename the daft ISBN folder names. And then I can relax a bit.
I did email Big Finish yesterday about my missing orders and downloads I don't have access to on the website. But for now I can breathe a bit better.
Still not using the new app though. I do have a backlog of things downloaded in advance on my old app.

What were BF thinking? I know there are some on the forum who seems to hate BF and relish any opportunity to kick them. I am most definitely not of that ilk but, much as it pains me to say it, BF really do deserve a kick on this occasion. How could they be so dumb? I have enough of a backlog on audible to give me fresh listening material for a while and I have done all the BF pre-orders I want for the next couple of months. I guess a BF holiday for a few weeks is a better idea than getting worked up and annoyed. The screenshot I took off the old website said I had 2137 downloads. The website now says I have 1583 and the app said (before it stopped working for me) I had 1503. I'll wait until the number comes back up to 2137 before I end my holiday. EDIT On the plus side, I feel justified in my CD collecting as I am not reliant on downloads or the app to get a BF fix

Those indifferent or with increasingly negative attitudes towards them have been made to feel worse/had their bias confirmed. Loyal customers feel like they've been treated poorly & are getting increasingly frustrated. The average Doctor Who fans? They still don't know BF exists!

Comes up first for me on Google but maybe that’s just cos I’m signed in and Google probably has more than enough data on my history of going to that website. Tbh my mindset on Big Finish is similar. I think for a little bit I’ll reserve myself to my current marathon and clearing backlog rather than buying new. My willingness to give Big Finish benefit of doubt has rather worn down of late with poor quality on tentpole ranges such as Once and Future and The Last Day, and now this debacle. Who knows maybe next month it will all be sorted and there will be glowing reviews of Susan’s War 2 and Benny’s relaunch to get me back onboard.

Happy 1 week anniversary to the new site and app! I've almost forgotten what if was like before they entered our lives...
I still get giddy when I open the new app... Will my releases be there or not? Who knows!
And the joy of finding a release on the site after spending 30 mins looking... Who really wants to find something quickly and easily? Only those people who have lives!

I just refreshed the app and all now seems OK, have 1434 titles and preorders, Deathworld showing as 31/08, others also saying the same on the FB group I refreshed and got 1579 titles - still short of the 2137 I should have but an improvement

Yes, me back again.
Just to say I've still not got a clue how many DLs (if any) are missing from my account, but I have now found a three month gap in my recent order history. Three months when I didn't order anything from BF - pull the other one!
Checking against my emails, which isn't easy because - and this is simply mad - they have changed all the order numbers for past as well as future orders. The First Rule of Rational Databases is NEVER CHANGE THE PRIMARY KEY ie. that which uniquely identifies a record. If they have done that, I can't guess what else might have happened in this "upgrade". (That's starting to look like "upgrade" in the Cybermen sense. A horrible way to upgrade.)
Anyway, the most serious gap in my alleged 'gap' is 'The Sirens of Time Redux' which is now of course OOP on CD in all its special editions. I really hope they still have the records of who bought which edition or there might be a few slightly miffed former BF fans around.
