They could have obtained consent to transfer address data to the new system to comply with GDPR as part of the password reset process etc. But they took a decision to inconvenience the customer instead. Don’t hide behind the law because you screwed up. mef They could, but maybe didn’t want to go to trouble of developing a way for customers to opt in and for them to keep track of who had said yes and who hadn’t. But a heads up that addresses would not be transferring would have been wise, to save the panic some people had about their physical orders being screwed up.

I try a couple times a day morning and night just to see if this area has been fixed.. Not yet..
And I did get a notification or 2 within the week of this big change that stuff had been mailed out..time will tell..!
EDIT - I just tried.. and it UPDATED !! I have taken a screen cap as evidence.. Only took 7 days..!

I wonder if they'll be extending the "grace period" they so-be evoke t give us before raising the prices on new releases to account for all the website issues. That is one area of my concern at the moment. Still, I have to give Jason Haigh-Ellery kudos for making this apology and putting his name behind it. They sent out a mass email to everyone with the link to it and that is a good sign to me. good for him

I'm glad at least that they issued an apology for the website and app issues. I really want to accept it and go back to how I viewed the company before, but for me it's not just the website or app it's also the issues with Baxendale and Hopley as well and all the price changes over the past year. And, speaking strictly personally, I just haven't enjoyed the creative direction a lot of ranges have taken these past few years either. All of it together has shaken a lot of faith I have in Big Finish and it's going to take some time and some noticeable changes on their part before I feel like I can fully trust them again. But that's just where I'm at right now. Yeah, for the most part no single problem is all that ruinous -- it's the cumulative weight of everything.And I think that point about faith is a really good one: and faith is not a resource that, once spent, can easily be restored. I recall coming across some business adage, years ago, to the effect of significant losses of consumer confidence being virtually impossible to recover from -- it is an uphill battle, every time. Big Finish likes to cite their small customer base as justification for their high prices. Whether or not you find those assertions especially persuasive (personally, I don't), if that was true, you'd think they'd behave much different toward that small number. Just what percentage of us, do you think -- especially the more casual fans, who don't engage with the social media element to any real extent -- have already jumped ship? I think I said before that none of the new/upcoming releases really leap out as must-buys to me, so I plan on just pulling back for a bit and waiting things out, but I would like to pick up Susan's War 2 and (maybe) Trial or a Time Lord before I peace out for the next few months.

Well, this apology is a good first step. Still, right now, I still have no motivation to go back to this abomination of a website and check what is there and re-enlist myself. I also cannot use the new app because of my old iPad, and I do not have money for a new one. Let us see how everything works out in a few weeks / months time when all has been blown over and maybe things are fixed and functional.

The good news is I got the email, so BF do still know I exist and there's digital proof of that!
The even better news is that 'Operation Werewolf' dropped through the letterbox a couple of days ago so the BF warehouse knows I exist and knows of my recent orders and there's physical proof of that!
('Oh my giddy aunt!' And I have a great new story to listen to over a sunny weekend. Things are looking up. )

I have been logging in and out of both site and app 1-2 times a day..
Still stuck on 957 titles on site.. 967 on app.. Actual list is 1,088..

Regardless of the improvements that have come to the app that’s a shockingly poor showing for that team.

So on Facebook there is now talk about the developers of the website ghosting BF. There must have been a recent social media post. The website devs do not seem to answer BF emails anymore... and the rumor mill is working that this will cause any August releases to be delayed. Oh my. This indeed could have been handled better.
