I'd wait for someone to put it up used on amazon. I might not pay $20 or whatever, but if someone passes it on for more like $8 ....eh...that's not much It would need to be in colour.

Physical media, sadly, isn't what it was. Which is a damn shame, imo.

Power of the Daleks? That was always a black and white episode. Why would you want that to be in color. If they were going to do more animations, I expect they would do them for stories that still have some existing episodes, so that they wouldn't have to animate the whole thing. It would be cool if the rumors were true though.

I would actually prefer if they fully animated at least one serial. The switch from animation to live action is always jarring. Although it would have to be better animation than some of the DVDs have been so far.

To clarify, I would most prefer EVERY lost episode being animated (if they can't be found) but if I had to choose right now what I wanted next, it would be a full serial, all animated. I don't want to get too excited about what sounds like a pretty straightforward jump to conclusions though.

Well, there are certainly some fully missing serials that I would love to see animated, but it probably makes more sense for them to animate the episodes that still partially exist. That way they don't have to pay to animate six whole episodes, and people who don't like the animation might still buy the DVD since it includes some of the original episodes.

Oh it's highly unlikely - I'd just like to see it. But that logistical paradox is why I'm waiting for 100% proof before becoming too invested in this rumour.

The already spurious rumour is that Power would be all animated, not that any of it has been found, as Dalekbuster guesses is a possibility. Phil Morris did tease recently that Web 3 might be found after all (though he's not averse to being a windup merchant) but no-one seems to even slightly think so much as one ep of Power has been found. Given there are a subset of fans who ALWAYS believe and start ME rumours, I'd sugest the silence is deafening on that front.
For me there are two stories that are top of my list for being found - Marco Polo and Power Of The Daleks. Marco was HUGELY rumoured to be found pre-return of Enemy and Web (hence it being referred to as the MEW discovery on forums in the weeks before announcement that the lost were found) and I was let down by the non-return of it in 2013 so I won't get my hopes up for Power now, based on zero facts, zero hints and a tabloid story that seems to have just been plucked from forums.

Some user on you tube reconstructed Web Of Fear episode 3 via action figures & it's not a bad reconstruction even if he uses the Amy Pond figure for another character lol.

But then, if they had found part of Power of the Daleks, why wouldn't they be rushing that out too? Not necessarily because they could make more money from animated Daleks than animated Yeti, so they'd maybe want to bank on promoting it as 'Including a Doctor Who animation featuring Daleks!'

Yeah, it's a shame the Marco Polo part of the rumour didn't turn out to be true. I'd have loved to have seen that one. As for Web of Fear episode 3: I'd be happy if it has been found, especially if it were to be released on iTunes promptly after an announcement because then I could delete the episode 3 telesnap recon and replace it with the real episode 3.

You're listening in the wrong places then. Speculation about partial if not full recovery of Power of the Daleks has been a constant part of the omni-rumour since the story two years ago that Mark Gatiss had attended a secret screening of it.

Also a coincidence that Moffat had written The Snowmen, shortly before Web of Fear was released, and Mark Gatiss had also written Victory of the Daleks, which has the "I am your soldier" phrase! It is all rather suspicious!

I'd say since the places I listened to were the ones that were right about two stories that did get returned....I'm not listening to the wrong places at all. Very easy for someone to just make up something online as seems to happen with MEs all the time. I "listen" to a lot, thanks, but also know when to disregard it as what would seem to be chinese whispers. Since no-one has anything solid on Power, there are no sources, there is absolutely nothing being hinted it at those that did know the last time....I don't think there's much to listen to that isn't just a waste of time from people getting ither peoples hopes up. Again THIS very story being reported by the newspapers says it's all animated so they're not even bothering to link it to missing episode rumours, something they would do at the drop of a hat as we've seen previously. There's Paul above saying it's suspicious that Gattis used a line from Power in a story and maybe that's a clue its found.....in 2010. Has Power been sitting around 7 years now after being found? You can add 2 and 2 to get 5 anytime. The only places I've seen missing eps and this potential animation being linked are on open forums by fans with no connection to either people like Phil M or the Beeb. Wishful thinking and speculation become the rumour and the rumour becomes widely reported with no basis in fact or reality. The tabloid rumour is that the BBC Store are animating the whole bhoona, not that it's been returned partially. The omnirumour started big years ago but it eventually became clear the only ones Morris found were the "MEW" ones, Marco, Enemy and Web. Then it turned out Marco wasn't there either leaving us with the 2013 releases of Enemy and (most of) Web. I think still pinning hopes on the omnimuour is a real hiding to nothing. How long do you believe a rumour before you have to let it go?

Don't disagree with any of that, but it's a long way from your original statement which was that absolutely nobody was suggesting there was any Power return. Nobody credible, agreed, but the rumour mill keeps on grinding. People snatch at the tiniest things, like the animation footage that escaped into the wild being titled animationinserts.Mp4
