That's a short window for the supposed UK terrestrial broadcast then.

The show is due to finish on December 3rd so about a month afterwards - sounds about right. It's going to be on the I-player for a whole year because of it's online first status, so there's no real rush for it I guess.

They'll probably include a load of special features to entice people to buy the Blu-ray whilst it's still on BBC Three Online.

Not surprised it was a very poor spin off in my opinion, lacked likeable characters & didn't quite gel together as it should've.

Their source is The Mirror. The BBC haven't confirmed or denied it.

Not surprised, it was a pawn in the BBC's & governments plan. Use the highest profile label, tag it to a script that had probally already been commissioned for CBBC, add in a bit of gore & violence and hope it gets an audience to justify the fact it was shutting down a channel to make up for government meddling & underfunding.

If it is indeed not to come back...it wouldn't be a major surprise, would it? I mean, subjectively some of us like it more than others and it's probably hard to measure the success of an online-first show as opposed to a regular TV show but....it just had zero buzz. I know of no-one but already very dedicated Who fans that watched it and most of them didn't give it much of a glance past the first eps. A shame but hey, the talented young cast will move on to hopefully have good careers and Patrick Ness won't want for his next project be it on the page or screen.

They shut down BBC3 long before announcing Class so I don't see how it would be used to justify a decision taken years ago.

Not really buddy, they closed bbc 3 in Feb 2016 announced class in Apr 2016 it was the first batch of the "digital only" channels commissions. You won't see many other of these big name commissions for BBC three, and by all accounts the watching of three's shows online is pityful, As we all knew it would be. Watch, in a year or so rebranding will occur with three's budget moving to Iplayer and the closing of the channel all together. the BBC is being squeezed out, it will be a single channel before too long, BBC 2 now shows more repeats than ITV & C4s main channels combined, and it is set to get even worse. Even flagship shows like doctor who is being moved about and rescheduled to make up for the budget cuts, we now get a series once every 18 months with as many excuses they can come up with to hide this. Sorry for the little rant but it makes me so angry to see how the BBC is being used & abused, to usher in the media giants.

Small flaw with that logic. They literally announced a new channel two days ago. Main reason BBC 3 moved online was barely anyone watched it when it was on TV (which is hardly surprising given that it had to pad out its time on air with endless repeats of Don't Tell the Bride or random comedies). The BBC is facing a dangerous situation, but I don't think it's as terminal as you seem to think.

I do think they'll wait and see how Class does in the States and with DVD/Blu-Ray sales before they decide to cancel it and if they do, they'll have to do something to wrap up that ending lol

The BBC is facing a dangerous situation, but I don't think it's as terminal as you seem to think. could the new channel have something to do with the fact that it is inevitable that Scotland will break away from the rest of the uk sometime soon...... ? judging how worried the BBC was about it's situation in the last sottish referendum perhaps it's trying to rectify that situation just in case...... the reason people stopped watching was the budgets were slashed in 2013, the drama & comedy budget was gutted so no one tuned in once shows like being human, in the flesh and so on were cut unless you liked a diet of have a fake wedding, spy on your kids or you are a bad driver......but more watched daily that than have viewed it's content than online. i am not saying it was wrong to get rid of Three i think Four should have gone too, i am just saying that class is a victim of it. it was under funded, under developed and used. The BBC never really wanted another spin-off show they wanted to make it look like they were still committed to Three which in reality they are not. It would have found a much bigger audience on CBBC with out the tagged on gore and violence. How many 20-somethings really want to watch a show about a school and school kids!

A TV programme would need some sort of core audience in the UK if it was to stay in business. Media sales in the US might be a nice plus for BBC Worldwide, but I doubt if channel programming in the UK would take that in to account. If a show is deemed (by the BBC) to have flopped, then it will be cancelled.

Although TG didn't perform as well as previous series, it didn't 'flop' Episode 1 received 6.6 million viewers with the remaining episodes on average at 4 million and all being the most watched programmes on BBC2 during June 2016. That is not the definition of flop.
