There are more than a couple of episodes of Black Mirror that could be Doctor Who stories - though they're much. much more adult and hard-edged than Who. Someone on the old forum called Black Mirror the sort of show Andrew Cartmel thought he was making in the late 80s with it's cynical and dystopian stories and I don't think that's too far off. 2000AD and JG Ballard clearly influenced Black Mirror and the McCoy era both in very different ways. I had no idea this existed. It sounds amazing. I'm... going to go... * woosh*

It's an anthology series with every episode being new stories, some seriously all star casts (John Hamm starring on Channel 4? Yes!) and some stunning, if bleak, ideas. Perhaps the most notorious is one that became eerily prophetic when the allegations about David Cameron and his.....misadventures with a dead pig came out last year. HIGHLY recommended.

Updated the top post with a few new minor rumours and bits of info. While I'm happy to see the enthusiasm from the team, the Innerspace doesn't tell us that much new from the last updates. How unusual A Star In Her Eye will be, well, we´ll have to wait for the S10 trailer to drop (possibly with or after Mysterio).

Source on twitter have indicated the 'her' in the title refers to the Tardis. Weird. Surely it would make more sense to be referring to Bill upon seeing the TARDIS for the first time?
www.beaumontlondon.com/clients/fady-elsayed

[/span]Seriously? You've got Katherine Kelly in your spinoff. Surely if you're going to cross any of them from Class into the main show, it's going to be her? You don't simply cast Katherine Kelly in the spinoff and have a different character cross over into the main show instead.

Besides, Fady Elsayed's Ram is easily the best thing about Class so far.
Fady Elsayed is great but if you have an amazing actor like Katherine Kelly in the spinoff, you'd be stupid to decide to bring Fady Elsayed into the main show and not her. He's not a big actor yet, whereas Katherine Kelly at the moment is massive. Keeping her on the spinoff (as great as Class is) is wasting her talent.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.
I've never heard of her before, besides Miss Quill is naff and overplayed.
I thought she was fantastic, clearly the best actor in it, although Fady Elsayed was a close second: he was a character I found very easy to dislike but found myself warming to as the show went on. Here's a thought: the other characters were being revealed as having depth as the show went on, while she started out fully formed and only revealed details that further explained and complicated her story. That gives her (Ms Kelly) a lot more to work with and suggests to me that the mentor could have the most interesting story to tell which would be an interesting change for this kind of series. Also, when you write and direct things for an ensemble, you try to strike some sort of evenness across all the performances so that one character or theme doesn't stand out from all the others. That Ms Kelly has stood out suggests either a misstep on the part of the producers (possible but doubtful given the scrutiny a show like this would be under all across the board during preproduction) or a reason for making this one character starkly different from the others. For me, the telling part was when she was getting defensive in front of the Doctor: as though there are parts of her life that she is very sensitive about that she thinks will get her in more trouble. Or it might be that she's just got loads more experience than the others and knows how to make the most out of parts.

You've never heard of Katherine Kelly? She's a hugely in-demand actor and one of the most well-known to come from British soaps. Also disagree that Miss Quill is 'naff' or over-played: Katherine Kelly as you would expect from one of the nation's most beloved actors is doing a stunning job.

Well she's clearly busy based on her filmography, but I think you overestimate how well known individual performers are outside of the fan bases of their particular shows. I'd certainly never heard of her.

No, seriously, you're underestimating how well known she is. Although he IS overselling how 'beloved' she is.

No. No. No. Everyone everywhere loves soaps... not. Anyone who doesn't watch the soaps, very probably hates the soaps. I'm now starting to understand a lot of things you've said in the past now...
