It's OK - we know that it was only MOST of you that were responsible, not all. Actually Clinton won the popular vote...

No, it doesn't work that way... in all but a couple of states, whoever wins that state gets all of that's state's Electors. Trump simply won enough states to get the Electoral Collage majority he needed. I'm not really needing cheering up over this. I didn't vote at all, I knew my state was going for Trump (I just checked, Trump had 70% of the vote here, which was his biggest margin in any state) and if I had voted, I probably would not have punched anyone for President, as I don't care at all for Hilary. And I've thought Trump has been coming off like a bad joke for months with a lot of his comments. However... he is a successful businessman and... back in the 90's I voted for Perot, twice, for that same reason. So I'll give him a chance to see what he actually does with the job before I form any further opinion.

Yep, the larger the population of a state, the more electors they have. Each state has at least 3 Electors (like here in Wyoming) but the higher population states have more, with California having the most at 55. Clinton won that state, but lost a number of other key states. I think once Pennsylvania was decided for Trump (with 20 Electoral votes) it was over for Clinton.

Ah Thank you I spent most of the morning as straightforward an explanation on the situation as this.

It's OK - we know that it was only MOST of you that were responsible, not all. Actually Clinton won the popular vote... But only by the teeniest, tiniest margin. And it's way too focused in only a few areas. If California were out of the equation Trump would have won popular vote by a long way as well. Scary statistics out there - 53% of white women apparently voted for him.

Well, I stopped following Andrew Smith and Barnaby Edwards on Twitter after reading their obnoxious commentary on the election. That cheered me up! Barnaby Edwards? Huh. I thought that was just heat of the moment upset and honestly quite understandable given the circumstances. It's the same nightmare of Brexit all over again, except with one of the biggest military and economic powerhouses in the world (behind China, of course). I thought his later resolve to be positive and share that letter by Aaron Sorkin was actually rather lovely.

Fortunately I am not on Twitter or Facebook, but I don't care what BF writers and staff think of society as long as they do their job of creating great stories on audio. I'm sure elements of what has gone on in the world in 2016 will creep in to some BF audios next year though!

I don't get why any woman would vote for him... But I know nothing Stupid is as stupid does. Hopefully. I'd say that those who are intelligent and educated are the ones to be worried about because even they know that conservative TRADITION (sung in the same vein as the song from Fiddler on the Roof) has its limits. Sexism, racism and exploitation. Is that really what you want to preserve? It's just slavery again. Bullying others to make yourself feel better. Tradition is not bad in and of itself, but when it starts harming your own people then it has gone too far.

That's what scares me: An audio drama equivalent of the head-slappingly dumb "Zygon Inversion."

Think how stories like Creatures of Beauty and Loups-Garoux treated their themes of environmentalism. If it does sneak through, we're more likely to get The Monster of Peladon than The Zygon Inversion.

I thought this thread was supposed to cheer up American members! I wouldn't be surprised if you all want a memory worm. Hang out, why do you want a memory worm?
