Ooops...about to indulge in a bit of thread necromancy...😱
Having just finished listening to "The Dollhouse" for the very first time and read some of the comments on the forum....I have to say I rather liked it. It was a slice of escapism for an hour. Certainly some of the dialogue is questionable, the accents of the three leads were (intentionally) a little on the heavy side and the opening theme was delightfully cheesy, but as pastiche of 70's TV in general (especially the attitudes to race and gender) and one TV crime show in particular I'd say it hit it's mark reasonably well. If I have one criticism it was the lack of a behind the scenes interview with the cast - would have liked to have heard what the actresses thought of the story.
Not bad. Not perfect by any means but not bad. Would have been interesting to see what became of Marlow, Gabi and (possibly) the Bull castrating Valerie after the LA office broke away from Torchwood or even a visit from a certain Captain Harkness to find out why the phone wasn't answered, but I'm guessing that boat has long since sailed.
