The Beast of Awe would be another great title though; sequel time...? Excellent news. Except for my 51-125 sale pounded virtual wallet...

TBR April 2017SynopsisPhilip Hinchcliffe, acclaimed producer of Doctor Who (1975-77) returns to tell new stories for the Fourth Doctor and Leela. The TARDIS arrives on the remote Shetland isle of Bothness and the Doctor and Leela find themselves threatened by Vikings! Only all is not as it seems. The locals are celebrating the old Norse fire festival of Up Helly Aa, so there’s nothing to be worried about. Or is there? For, unknown to the islanders, the TARDIS crew are on the trail of an ancient artefact invested with mysterious powers that has recently been stolen and brought to this remote location. Somewhere on this island lurks something ancient, and evil, and alien. The Doctor and Leela will have to stop it. Only on this occasion time might not be on their side. Written By: Philip Hinchcliffe, adapted by Marc Platt Directed By: Ken Bentley CASTTom Baker (The Doctor), Louise Jameson (Leela), Joanna Vanderham (Joanna Renwick), David Rintoul (Professor Angus Renwick), Jane Slavin (Peggy), Ewan Bailey (Davy McTavit), Kieran Bew (Murdo Jamieson), Chris Porter (Nardos), Fleur Hinchcliffe (Young Angus Renwick)

And look, Jane Slavin is in the cast. Take a shot. I wonder if Fleur Hinchcliffe is any relation to Philip?

Now, with all due respect to Romeo and Juliet and The Genesis Chamber (which I did enjoy), that scenario sounds like a proper Hinchcliffe & Holmes story.
Great atmospheric setting, ancient and powerful artefact, evil alien influence lurking around and decorative 'Vikings'. Modern gothic, with winged helmets and flaming torches? I do hope so!
(How helpful BF are when they remove all doubt from the 'shall I pre-order or wait' conundrum!)

The first set I liked, this one I'll strongly consider getting. Any idea if it's a four or six parter?

Four parter I believe, going by the price and that there are 3 CDs, with one usually a 'making of' CD.

I think its 3 Eps per 1st 2 Discs and a Interview Disc making 3 Discs.

Excellent, I am very pleased indeed to be wrong! This release gets ever more promising. It's a bargain by PHP standards then, must be three CDs each packed to the 80min limit? EDIT: Yes, of course that would work perfectly in the classic TV format, 3 x 25 minute epsiodes per CD plus 5 minutes spare for over-runs!

Ahhh, then perhaps a cut-and-paste gremlin has affected the timing given on the story listing? 240 min and 3 CDs could be done but it wouldn't be the usual format. They do normally quote a running time of 60 minutes times the number of CDs, even if the story gives us a bonus of a longer running time in practice. And the PHP range seems to be priced at around £10 per two episodes which is what made me assume four-parter. (I do hope I'm wrong and it's a six-parter.)

Good spot but then 4hr runtime makes it a 2 hour interview at least even if BF tack on a Music Suite.

Yeah, I'm not entirely sure what they're doing with this one. I'm assuming that there's a mistake, and that maybe the 240 minute run time is meant to be 180, but even then it makes it one of the double jewel-case releases, which I seem to remember (at time of announcement) wasn't the case, and that it would simply be a single... I'm not sure at all. There will undoubtedly be a news piece soon though, 'officially' confirming the release date for April, and (hopefully) have a cover too!
