I quite enjoyed this. Although I can't say I cared about the monster all that much. I felt this story had rich characters, great atmosphere, a lovely setting, & some nice use of time travel.

Very good kind of like Image of the Fendhal if set in the Scottish Isles
Good solid performance from Tom Baker and the guest cast
Only slight drawbacks were Leela's Row Chant and some of her dialogue it didn't seem to fit Louise Jamson's usual natural delivery.

Enjoyed it quite a bit, but I too could have done without the "Seveteem" warcry. Will have to give it another listen.
The one thing that seemed to stick out for me was that while Tom's Doctor usually takes some time to poke around at first, he seemed to have a fairly clear idea of what the problem was from the beginning (even if not exactly)

Also, Toms performance seems to be very sedate and restrained. Not that this is a bad thing in itself but I can't think of an audio off the top of my head (which is where I keep them obviously) in which he is like this.
That said, I am enjoying the release a lot so far. As for the Sevateem war cry..................no thank you, not today!!!

Tom's restraint is one of the things that I love about this story. He still has humor, but it's much more balanced within his personality than we get in the 4DA.

They story was okay, very Fendhal. What I really Loved was Tom. There was just the right amount of daft, but he could be angry when he wanted to.

Finally got around to listening to this. I enjoyed it quite a lot. Interesting story, interesting setting and I enjoyed the interaction among the characters. The interviews were fun to listen to, also. Though I too could have done without the seveteem war cry.

Just wondering, have BF mentioned at all if they are considering/planning any further PHP stories? I've yet to listen to any of these (£ related reasons, and I seem to keep missing when the first set goes on sale...) but heard good things about them...

Just wondering, have BF mentioned at all if they are considering/planning any further PHP stories? I've yet to listen to any of these (£ related reasons, and I seem to keep missing when the first set goes on sale...) but heard good things about them... Phillip's been in the news a bit recently promoting the Tom bluray and he's talked about wanting to move away from gothic horror and planning an adventure pulp type series going forward before he was essentially fired at the end of Season 14. Though he admitted in the BFI interview it was just an idea, nothing was comissioned or ready to go in that vein. In his commentaries on the DVD of Brain Of Morbius he says something similar, that he wanted an Indiana Jones feel (before Raiders came out but we know what he meant) if he had stayed. None of the PHP releases feel like that, really, they're more obviously Hinchcliffe-Holmes Season 13 or 14 style stories. I'd love to have "Philip Hinchcliffe Presents Season 15" in that adventure style.
