The outfit doesn't look too bad. Will have to wait and see it in action.
Am I the only one who thinks she is wearing TARDIS socks though?

Blimey, she looks like she's had a few too many at the local pub.

I think we can start to really believe the stories that Chibnall wants to go to a much brighter adventure series. That's not the outfit of a Doctor from an austere, introverted series. To tie this discussion back into story terms, I feel like this, in conjunction with the (rumoured) focus on historical over space stories ,and a companion team that covers several demographics, may actually be telling of Chibnall's plan. He may want the series to go back to its actual roots, as in, what Sy Newman originally envisioned: mass appeal, all encompassing adventure series with some type of educational element. Ironically, this return to the absolute basics may be the boldest and most refreshing direction to take the show, if not the franchise period, in since... the Cartmel Masterplan? Who's been stuck in this pseudo Holmes-Cartmel state for a long time (nearly three decades), so returning to more the Newman-Wilson-Webber ideal may actually be the best thing. Nothing wrong with Holmes or Cartmel of course, but it would be nice if the knee-jerk response to stories isn't always 'make it dark or big & mythological'. Less can be more, sometimes.

And if you go too much into mythology it can easily become a convoluted mess. The worst thing that can happen in any story is a lot of exposition.

Well it seems Ian Levine has been at it again on his twitter. I do agree with him this time on the costume. It's awful and looks like they were trying to dress a CBeebies presenter.

He'll no doubt moan that Chibnall is'just copying Law and Order UK' if Bradley Walsh ends up playing a policeman - which looks likely from the set picture of a university in Cardiff standing in for Sheffield police station. I can't imagine either of the other two companions playing policemen/women; they're way too young.

Policeman's a job title, not a character personality trait. You could have two policemen with wildly different personalities.

You could have two policemen with wildly different personalities. I think my phrasing was off. I meant that having two characters share a job could lead them to become too similar, not that they automatically would be similar.

Costume stills are just about useless. Come back to me when we have a trailer so we can see how it moves and functions.

Oh and flip side to the costume is if it is the expressed wish of the production team to reestablish the merchandise end of the brand, then 13's costume looks tailor made for the toy and action figure market.
