Death to the Daleks. It's brilliant... Daleks with rifles! Pertwee and Sladen. Daleks with rifles... Stop don't kazoo.

Death to the Daleks. It's brilliant... Daleks with rifles! Pertwee and Sladen. Daleks with rifles... I love it! Sarah discovering the City by night is a shiver-down-the-spine moment - what a first off-world adventure for the wonderful new companion. One of the first released on VHS back in the 80s and the first story I ever bought: that way leads to... a collection

Death to the Daleks. It's brilliant... Daleks with rifles! Pertwee and Sladen. Daleks with rifles... My favourite moment has got to be the one moments before they reach the control room. Mainly, because I think it's the City's attempt to recondition them as thralls. It's inside their brains, trying to sink its programming into the hollows of their minds like a parasitic wasp:

Delta and the Bannermen. The beginnings of the darker Seven, an interesting set-up, a great rip-off joke that I don't think the writers even intended (Disneyland 1956 was... not what you'd expect from today), and a great couple of action scenes with a genuine threat of a villain. I kind of wish Ray had been our new companion instead of Ace because she was one of the best parts of the story.

Ok, here come the rotten eggs and tomatoes. Love And Monsters. I love Jackie in this one, Elton is sweet and I really get the humor. I find it bittersweet when Elton remembers how he met The Doctor. Yes, the monster is rubbish (but stop being so critical, it was designed by a child), but like I said, I really like the humor in this. Ok, having a love life with a piece of pavement is not something I really want to think about, but I like it all the same.

I was just looking at the bottom ten stories from the 2014 poll in Doctor Who Magazine and have to say that I like every single one of them except for Fear Her. I find that a bit funny actually.

Also, one I felt that a lot of people are meh on but I think is really good, is the Beast Below. Especially the ending to that episode, which is a real showcase of Matt Smith's ability to act.

And I think that is a great way to explain a lot of quote on quote bad episodes, there is just weird reasons that I let them off for things they may or may not do wrong. Very well said.

There aren't many I'd say I hate, so I probably like a number of hated episodes. :-)
I wonder if I should say Trial of a Time Lord specifically? I think I've noticed that not everyone shares my enthusiasm for it, at least, but I do think very highly of it.

I actually really enjoyed Trial, granted I watched it all over the course of one day which probably made it more satisfying, and even found Mel quite refreshing (ducks for cover).

Time and the Rani
There; I said it.
Admittedly, the script did have to be rewritten, the Doctor is too jokey, Mel's character is imitated too well too soon, and there is a massive info-dump in episode 3, but I still liked it.
The special effects for the Rani's traps were brilliant or their time, and still hold up today: a clever blend of practical and computer effects.
And remember, this is the first time a Doctor's regeneration had not been witnessed by his companions since Troughton-Pertwee. We therefore had scenes of doubt and recognition the likes of which we hadn't had in more than a decade.
The pathos created by the Lakertyan character leads, often suddenly, demonstrates the skill of the guest cast.
And Kate O'Mara as the Rani was always my favorite 80's villain.

The Rings of Akhaten - I don't really get the hate for this one, it's quite a sweet episode, actually. The Time of the Doctor - I don't think this one is hated per se, but I see some negative comments about it and not a whole lot of love for it. Yeah, it's somewhat messy, mostly because Moffat shoved a whole season of ideas into one episode, but I enjoy it and it has some good moments - though the whole naked Eleven thing was weird. Kill the Moon - Yeah, the moon egg is stupid, but I enjoy the rest of the episode despite that. I like the whole thing of Twelve leaving it up to Clara and the rest of the humans to decide what to do, and I adore Clara's outburst at him at the end of the episode.
Also, whilst I don't love the following episodes, but I see a lot hate for them:
Daleks In Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks - I don't really get the hate for this two-parter. Sure, it's not amazing, but I see a lot of moaning about it. Actually, I don't think I've seen any constructive criticism about it, I just see people saying how awful it is without giving any reasons. Hell Bent - Sure, it's not what I was expecting, and it was going to be difficult following Heaven Sent, but I don't think it's as bad as people make it out to be. Yes, Twelve is decidedly un-Doctorish for a lot of this episode, but I don't blame his actions considering what he went through and after losing his best friend.

I love Robot of Sherwood and Minuet in Hell. I never understood the negative fan reaction for either.
