But are all of them genuine? I know someone who filed a false one. Yes, why, we've had false domestic abuse reports come in all the time. Why bother with the real ones? Why bother with the wives, husbands, daughters and sons who are actually beaten? They could be faking you know. I don't get angry easily, but what a thoroughly disgusting worldview. Genuinely repulsive. I believe in innocent till proven guilty. I believe that quite a few are probably real, but are all of them? Because I've seen a lot of false accusations thrown around in my time. If you haven't experienced that, then fair enough, but we need to be sure every single one is truthful.

I've included a relevant snippet because it gives you an idea of the genuinely huge disparity between genuine claims and fake charges. "The study released on Wednesday by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) reveals that during the 17-month test period – when all false allegation cases were referred to the DPP – there were 5,651 prosecutions for rape and 111,891 for domestic violence in England and Wales. "By comparison, over the same timespan, there were only 35 prosecutions for making false allegations of rape, six for false allegations of domestic violence and three that involved false allegations of both rape and domestic violence."

If you haven't experienced that, then fair enough, but we need to be sure every single one is truthful. Oh, trust me, I know precisely what it feels like to be accused of something that I didn't do. I know exactly what the cost is, I know it more than you would ever believe. I say this as someone who was nearly destroyed by such petty fearmongering, fabricated by those I was supposed to trust: it cannot be used as an excuse to allow genuine harm to befall others. Benefit of the doubt and due process, yes, but to use it as an excuse to do nothing? Worse than that, to dismiss accounts that are genuine as shutupbanks has pointed out? No, that is immoral, irresponsible and is self-justification for standing by while other people come to harm. It's old fashioned Soviet era Whataboutism, the kind of deflection used by police states and corrupt politicians. I cannot and will not let it slide, my past history won't allow it.

All right. Fair enough. I just haven't seen any of it myself. But I'm talking about discrimination allegations. Rape and domestic violence always come across to me as things people don't make up unless they are entirely f***ed in the head. People who accuse people falsely of discrimination are generally oversensitive, misguided over the meaning of the words, make assumptions or f***ed in the head. Not saying they're aren't real cases of homophobia. Of course there are, but we cannot say for certain all of them are legitimate. Nonetheless, thanks for informing me about this. It's terrible that there's so much domestic violence.

I don't go out of my way looking for problems. If I do stumble into problems, even those that don't affect me, I'll try to solve them. Therefore, if I were to see homophobia, I would do something about it.

I don't suppose anything more can be asked in this case. I'm sorry if I misjudged you.

I smacked my cousins uncle & both his two homophobic mates when i discovered they'd mocked him & stepdad hit him, the vile comments they spurted out still make my blood boil knowing it all lead to my cousin taking his own life a few months later.
