The phrase "sold a pup" springs to mind And the pup was frothing at the mouth and biting even before we bought it but...people still wanted it.

Yeah, all the plebs who were supposed to rush to 'take back' all those jobs 'stolen' by immigrants don't exist, do they, Bozo? And any that might do probably live in cities, not in the countryside.

^^ No point in the big companys raising turkeys in the huge numbers the supermarkets want if you have no one to prepare them in the run up to peak demand. Best to get your order in now at your local poultry farm.

*walking past yet another queue at the fuel station...*
What is this, wartime Britain or Soviet Russia, where you always joined a queue just in case there was something to buy at the end of it that might be useful?

Is anyone surprised by this? One of the benefits of brexit apparently was to end freedom of movement. Now those we have have been hostile too don't want to come back to help us out for a couple months.

Is anyone surprised by this? One of the benefits of brexit apparently was to end freedom of movement. Now those we have have been hostile too don't want to come back to help us out for a couple months. I don’t know what to make of all this driver shortage, my friend works for a haulage firm and his firm was took over, a year last September and they made 40% of its drivers redundant, & replaced them with overseas workers who were self employed, but due to tax changes they all gone home cause they have to pay tax at source not because of brexit…., last month his firm announced that they would be making further cuts as they had an excess of drivers. my friend finishes next week……he got a new job working for a different company but require him to pay £3000+ for a kinda refresher/certificate corse……why? when are firms going to wake up that, ready made cheap workforce is over, we voted for homegrown with brexit which means invest in people and not overseas shareholders……..the money needs to move down the chain….. I feel this chaos is being created by an ineffectual government who has taken its eye off the ball, firms creating chaos in a bid to put pressure on the system, a media wanting the next doomsday story. but to be fair, out of the 10 petrol stations around me…….everyone has petrol & the shelves on the supermarkets are still full, so is it more media creating this hype…..and the stores wanting to panic people into hoarding & buying early for Xmas …… when we have Iceland manager being the voice of doom on question time, VERY realising Christmas ads in September & spokesperson for every store saying shop early for Xmas in every newspaper, Morrisons being sold to the highest overseas bidder, a little read between the lines begins to show light on what’s happening…… I think the government are to blame for many things but not sure this one is their fault, as much as firms squeezing every drop out of workers and it’s finally snapped and playing the public for all it’s worth…… i just feel sorry for everyone effected by this……

This is what they voted for. They need to take ownership of this chaos. Project Fear is Project Here.
