Thank you! I'm sure I'd follow along alright, it's more just that Big Finish put out so much fantastic stuff that I'm absolutely swamped just keeping up with the areas of the franchise that I'm more familiar with as it is so things like the 3DAs end up kind of being a bit low priority for me. I did pick the first set up when it was on sale earlier in the year, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. e: The Frontier/Planet two pack is one of the handful of Pertwee DVDs I own so I'm sorted there anyway I was in the same boat as you are not a long time ago, but believe me venturing into unfamiliar territory is totally worth it (Not for your bank account though) I started with Tenth Doctor Adventures and the decided okay, I'll expand - but only Doctor Who and no spin-offs. And now I've got myself into almost all the spin-offs Low priorities slowly went up in priority (no regrets there) You mirror my experience 3 years ago. I think most of us started off at BF thinking, "I'm only going to get _____", and then ended up listening to everything and anything that you can afford to buy.

There's also other stuff like Dark Shadows.. but who's counting..

I must have been a minority when I found Big Finish and went, "I want EVERYTHING!!!" Well, almost everything I came for anything related to TV Doctor Who and Blake's 7. Any novel/comic/audio specific spin-offs ( Iris, Graceless, Charlotte Pollard, etc.) were complete non-interests when I first started... now I just want to get everything TV related BEFORE I move on to them

Yeah, it would take too long to load up the basket, so I haven't bothered looking at mine I gathered the courage to do it and took a screenshot. Only look at that once you've bought it all separately - it won't seem like as much once you own the product It's like when I look back over the money I've spent this year... ...yeah, no, still haven't quite come to terms with that one

As for what I've spent so far, I would prefer not counting.. it's safer that way

Given Nick's self-confessed love for The Invasion style Cybermen, I'm going to assume that it will be them when the 3rd Doctor finally encounters them on audio, especially since the design is basically the same to ones seen in Revenge of the Cybermen, so it would make show timeline/chronological sense to use those ones (and we still don't know for sure that they will even feature in this box set). Personally, while the visual design is great, I don't really like the sound of The Invasion Cybermen - they're always slightly indistinct and can be very difficult to understand at times.

Possibly, although I don't think chronology is important in a time travel show. I mean, we did just have the Mondasian Cybermen turn up in a 12th Doctor finale.

Probably Invasion-style, that seems to be Big Finish's default 'look' for the Cybermen unless they explicitly want to use a different design. I must say this does sound promising, I haven't got any of previous sets so may jump on here if I feel I've got enough spare cash come March. And the glowing reviews I've seen of these sets elsewhere on the forum does intrigue me...

On a podcast (I think, it could have been the interviews for this story), Nick said that not giving the Daleks pupils on the covers for Blood of the Daleks suffered resistance from the BBC, who claimed that "They had the pupil by this point in the show". So, yes, I think, to some people, it is important. True, the Daleks on the cover remain pupil-less, but I think that in the case of Cybermen unless there is a very important or strict reason for it to be a different design, I feel they will likely use whatever design was appropriate for this era, namely The Invasion ones.

And the glowing reviews I've seen of these sets elsewhere on the forum does intrigue me... Assuming it is the Cybermen (which we don't know as yet) they will of course be classic-series Cybermen not new series; the 3DAs recreate the Third Doctor's classic TV era. The Cybermen 'evolved' during the classic era from 'The Tenth Planet' to 'Silver Nemesis' so each Doctor has their 'correct' Cybermen. Although he never actually met them on screen, the Third Doctor should meet 'The Invasion' model. They were the last current design seen before his era and they were still the current design when the Fourth Doctor met them years later. Certainly no need for an 'upgrade'. Re. the 3DAs. If you have some spare cash, don't wait for March, buy the latest 3DAs Volume 3 now and start there. (Yes of course I'm biased, he's my Doctor!, but it really is a splendid boxset with two epic stories.)
