Oh wow, I wasn't interested at first but the extras make it sound really good. The only thing that puts me off is that it says limited edition - I would probably only get it later down the line (depending on price) but if it is limited we may not get that option, so I'm hoping there's a standard edition.

Well the cover has been revealed and it’s a lovely piece of artwork by Lee Binding. However it has the new logo on it. Not sure how to feel, it’s gonna look outdated in a few years. Like those Classic Series DWM graphic novels with the RTD logo on them. Over on Gallifrey Base, Steve Roberts says this was mandated and everything will have the new logo going forward branding wise. Not sure if that will mean BF in due course, presumably so since they've been forced to change things before, like losing the gold McGann logo. Even if BF do have to switch, hopefully they'll be able to keep up their reversible covers.

I'd be shocked if they kept this LE-only. I guess it's probably only the packaging that's LE, and after that the discs will be in an amaray case.

I can't see why not. I don't think the new merchandise guidelines are going to be that strict

Price is now showing £49.99 on Amazon UK, with a release date of 11 June. Instant preorder for me, though hopefully the price goes down a little before it's released.

I'll happily be wrong about the source material not having a whole lot of room for improvement, so I'll wait for some screen captures to decide. New extras make it tempting but that would be the point of the new extras.

Big Finish is bad enough. Wonder if the I, Davros series will be included. That was included for the Davros collection, along with all BF Davros stories up to The Juggernauts.

A friend of mine is a film maker so I showed him an article of this I saw on facebook just before. his response :
"It was mostly shot on videotape and the 16mm film bits largely don't exist as original negatives"..
Interesting..

How am I supposed to keep all the TV and Big Finish stories in chronological order on the shelf now? 0/10 terrible release.

Adding the stories on DVD separately comes to the same price, funnily enough. Seems a no-brainer for anyone who doesn't have the stories, a no brainer too for the new extras and the answer to prayers for fans in Region 1/A land where a copy of Genesis, or Robot, on their own go for more than this whole set.

Well, since we can't go back in time to when they were first out and pay 2018 prices, it doesn't matter at all, of course. You can only really compare to the alternatives available right now. Sure, you and I - and most of us here - paid quite a prettier penny to get them at the time but that was a fair price then and we got the advantage of having them to watch in the best (till now) quality stacked with extras for years. And we supported the range which I never regret doing with stuff I love - as with BF, if everyone waited for sales for Who home media we wouldn't be getting it for long!
