I hope that they put them in places they can easily be watched.... (incidentally, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH! The final volume of Coda has been pushed back AGAIN! But I absolutely refuse to pay for the ebook just so I can read it months before the actual paperback arrives).

Coda book 3 has been out since November? edit -- OH, supply chain physical publication issues?

Picard S2 trailer has landed:
Will readily admit I'm a bit cold on season 1; it had some really neat stuff in it, but I think there were some sizeable creative missteps that could've been easily avoided. But even having said that...I really like this trailer, it's got me interested in S2 where I was a little ambivalent up to now.

But even having said that...I really like this trailer, it's got me interested in S2 where I was a little ambivalent up to now. I am very much looking forward to it. Come on, the trailer is awesome!
It has everything that has made previous movies/ episodes successful: Great characters like Q and Seven and Guinan TIME TRAVEL! (most of the time travel stories in Star Trek were awesome) It will again feature awesome visuals. And there will be even more known faces, Robert Picardo is supposedly in it, too (I still have the maybe misguided hope he might be revealed as the villain... one can hope... I just hope they won't use him just as a joke/ comic relief).

I don't really want to get into, so I'll just leave it at this: it's really disappointing when the a story is resolved in the most obvious manner that one can easily guess at from the premise.

Star Trek 4 (2). I'm interested to see it if it happens, but am tempering my expectations because this is the third or fourth time they've said it's happening since Beyond came out. Reading the story they haven't even got the cast signed up, so...

Has anyone else seen the new episode of Picard?
It’s a marked change of tone from the previous season and the whole thing has more of a hopeful feel to it.
It feels like they listened to the feedback from the last season.
Fingers crossed it keeps it up!

^ ugh, please don't give trolls oxygen. Complete waste of space.
Re: this week....
DSC 411 - Some really painfully bad leaps of logic, but in spite of those, still rather enjoyable. Lots of really nice character bits. PIC 201 - Absolutely terrific premiere. Really hoping though that this isn't a repeat of last year, where the premiere was great and then the rest of the season was pretty...ehh.

Season 2 of Picard is off to a good start. I think most fans will be pleased with the opener. The last 15 minutes of the episode was quite exciting! It has 2 returning major baddies - 1 of them having a new look and pleading for help.

I just started it (will continue later, must do my chores first and just tuned in because of curiosity). I loved the very start. Harvesting the grapes at the vineyard. I am from a wine growing region and grew up with being conscripted in the vinyards. I actually had to laugh when I see the future version and the use of transporter technology. That was a very nice touch including this, Star Trek is a sci-fi utopia first, and I love seeing future technical marvels. Also, I love it when sci-fi series also show the day to day live of the people (I am a sucker for alien market scenes). Off to a good start I would say.

Just finished it. OMG, this was awesome. I agree, it has a totally different tone than the last season. This is optimistic and had a lot of charm, and it reminds me a lot of "All Good Things". Which is great praise. Because All Good Things is a masterpiece. Great visuals. Great performances. Many little Easter Eggs. Lots of familiar faces. What is not to like? Plus, this appears to be a time travel plot. All the best Trek stories were time travel related. I am having high hopes for this.
One question though- what is the KLINGON flag doing among the Federation flags at Starfleet Academy?

With all this rumbling about another Kelvinverse movie, it's occured to me that it's been so long since the original film in 2009, that enough time's passed for the next film to take place just in time for V'Ger's scheduled return!
I do hope they don't just remake the Motionless Picture.

I would think you'd count from Beyond rather than 2009....but still works.

Second episode of Star Trek Picard. I still like this, even if it got a lot darker this time. Plus we are back with the over the top gore which was my big nitpick with Season 1. So overall, this is a curious mix of some of Star Trek's greatest hits. So what do we have got.... "All Good Things" of course, but we also have "Mirror, Mirror", "Time's Arrow" and "The Voyage Home". And there is basically an Easter Egg in every corner. If this was Big Finish, I would say some people would call this "Fan W*nk". Visually, it looks great. There are many fun and funny moments. I adored the cartoon cat AI! That was awesome, I want one! I also loved the (probably very unintentional) nod to the Human Imperium of Warhammer 40000. That speech would not have been out of place there, as would the polluted world with the shields, the Inquisition, the skull trophies. OMG the skull trophies. These are another thing I want! I mean, I already have General Martok on my wall, but so far, only as an autograph....
But for all the gore, the fan w*nk and Easter Eggs, I felt very entertained and did not notice the time at all. Well paced, well performed, looking great. And we get an awesome scary villain that actually feels sinister and a threat, compared to those Romulan stooges we had last time.
So for the next episode, my guess is: we are first doing a Voyage Home, catching a Time's Arrow in San Francisco and probably see the City at the Edge of Forever.
