Prodigy has been cancelled by Paramount and will be removed from Paramount+ in the upcoming days. Though, it sounds like season 2 will be completed and released at some point. CBS is shopping Prodigy around to other streamers/broadcasters as well, so this much more similar to show cancellation like Batman Caped Crusader and Jinx which found new homes after being cancelled for tax purposes. And here we go... scifibulletin.com/2023/10/11/star-trek-prodigy-moves-to-netflix/

I'm surprised Prodigy didn't outlast Lower Decks. I don't really care for either, but at least Prodigy tries harder to be Star Trek like.

Given the shift of everything to Paramount I won't be watching any more ST. I cannot justify forking out for another streaming service and I am not sure I want to pick it up when released on DVD.

Ah, well, the way to handle streaming services is to subscribe to one and one alone for a month or so (assuming you can't get a free trial), blitz everything you want, then move onto the next one. I wouldn't recommend having a permament subscription to all of them simultaneously.

Yeah that's the legal way. But its so bizarre we have to do this. All these streaming services. Getting out of hand now.

If they gave out a free month every year that would work nicely. Sadly you can only do it once and they you pay, or are SOL unless you want to buy the DVD.

Picard s3 turned out okay. I was quite suprised by the elements inspired by the novels. They'll be basing stuff on comics next...
{Spoiler} Aside from Discovery's use of Control, Picard s3 featured a Borg speaker named Vox (a Ferengi in the books) and had a Soong decant Data and a mixture of other personalities into a more human body (see "The Persistance of Memory")

My SNW watch-through is stalling out. Just did the Kirk/time travel episode. It was baaaad.
In other news, I freakin' LOVE Lower Decks. Haven't been able to watch much of anything lately, but hopefully I'll be able to finish both series... by the end of the year. Good freakin' god.

We may all want "Whatsit Blue Yonder" to be a multi-Doctor, Susan-centric, Omega epic, but the climax of Lower Decks s4 shows how to do a sequel to an episode from donkey's years ago you can barely remember and make it worthwhile

Is WBY a sequel to an episode from donkey's years ago you can barely remember??? Maybe it is, I wouldn't put it past RTD! Actually this thread being revived has reminded me I never finished watching SNW season 2. I got interrupted half way through episode 8, which I was watching shortly after it was released and I've just realised I never went back to it and finished the series. I suppose that sums this season up for me. Shame, cos I adored season 1

If not, no.

Prices of Pocket Star Trek novels in ebook formats appear to have been cut. I picked up "Indistinguisable by Magic", the well-regarded David A "Doctor Who" McIntee Scotty/LaForge novel, and Amazon are touting the Coda trilogy* as the best price within the last 30 days
* the three novels that completed the post-Nemesis continuity by introducing a threat to destroy the entire universe

According to Variety, Lower Decks is to conclude with Season 5.
It’s a real shame, this is the best series to come out of the franchise since 2017.
