John Cleese will be reprising the role of Basil Fawlty in an upcoming sequel series to Fawlty Towers. To say this is the last thing I could possibly have expected to learn today would be an understatement...

I knew that Bessie was a kit car, but I was surprised to read in DWM that the kit was only sold from 1969 to the mid-1970s. (The body was intended to replicate the look of older vehicles, and was installed on top of the base of a 1950s Ford). So, far from being an Edwardian roadster (and 'roadster' is wrong, too), Bessie was a contemporary vehicle. Which is probably how the Brig was able to buy her, he just sent Benton down to the salesroom to buy one and make it up.
UNIT dating solved.

Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood played the bass on the song "Fire" from "The Crazy World of Arthur Brown" in the late 60's. He was a big influence on the usual's - KISS, David Bowie, Alice Cooper and also Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden is a Huge fan of his.

In relation to Jodie Whittacker :
"In February 2023, a press release indicated Whittaker and others were filming for a 6-part Australian TV series in Sydney, Australia called One Night for Paramount"
So she was/is/will be in Australia?
HHMM!

He was a big influence on the usual's - KISS, David Bowie, Alice Cooper and also Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden is a Huge fan of his. Ronnie did say that but just one problem - it's patently bullshit! And for one glaring reason - there's no bass on on Fire, it uses bass pedal so he can't have played an instrument that's not on it!. It's been claimed he may have recorded on a BBC session or the likes but he can't be on the record. He was however briefly in a band with Jon Lord before either made it. Jon obviously joined the new Deep Purple Mk I, and Ron was in the Jeff Beck Group playing bass. It wasn't until The Faces he got to switch to guitar. He made a WONDERFUL solo record - I've Got My Own Album To Do. And there's a pair of live albums, The New Barbarians and The Last Barbarians which are both amazing. The first is between The Faces and The Stones for Ron and the second is 79 so he was in the Stones by then (though was not a full member untill 1990 after Bill Wyman left - for nearly 15 years Ronnie was just a salaried musician, not a band member. Those Barbarian live discs also have DVDs - ESSENTIAL for Ron, Faces and Stones fans - Keith is on guitar, Ian McLagan on keys. Rod does a guest slot on the first one. Obscure but HIGHLY recommended. As for Arthur, no UK rock fan would need a primer on him. His album from last year was as OTT and bonkers as ever even at the age of 80. But for as much as he's unfairly remembered just for fire - check out his albums with Kingdom Come especially Journey from 1973. In that he shows that he was a pioneer of electronic music, could make prog as interesting as Yes but in half the time, and was making sounds even Floyd weren't thinking of that same year with Dark Side.

AHH.. So Ronnie has his facts wrong! Good to know In similar news Jimmy Page can't recall all the albums he worked on as a session musician, he basically says if it sounds like me chances are it was me LOLZ Wasn't Arthur a Psychologist in his day job back then?! I think I might need to Wiki him now !

Any Technically minded Minded Members wish to confirm of refute the statement, not provoking Genuinely curious Regards mark687 Really all dependent. It sounds like a lot of these old photos weren't digital files, or at least were never compiled into a hard drive, and Google Drive is definitely not the best place for long-term housing and organization. So likely this is true, though not well-worded imo. A long process and one that is likely a low priority to be completely honest.

I've thought this before, but never voiced it, and perhaps it's unwise to do so now, BUT: I think Big Finish really needs to hire an autistic person for whom this kind of organizational process would be the HIGHEST priority. Like, yeah, no allistic's gonna want to spend a few weeks comprehensively digitizing and organizing and sorting your entire media collection... so find one of us to do it instead!

Elvis Presley was almost a Travelling Wilbury!
Apparently the plan was that the Wilburys' second album (whcih I believe was Vol 3) was going to have a song where at the chorus an old recording of Elvis would join in. Accounts differ as to why this never happened (permission refused, technology insufficient to get a clear sound, just never transpired) but it seems that George Harrison mentioned this to Yoko Ono. She thought, "what a good idea", dug out some old Lennon tapes - and *that*s the origin of the Beatles '90s recordings.
