Today I learned about Sixto Rodriguez, who died in the last few days. From a Mexican immigrant family living in Detroit, he retired from a modestly successful music career to work in manual labour, little knowing that he was a MASSIVE star in South Africa, a darling of the anti-apartheid campaign, and probably a bigger seller in that country than Elvis. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sixto_Rodriguez

Well, here's a movie I didn't expect Del Toro to ever mention.

It was around the time of 127 Hours and (I think Barry Norman) heaped praise on it and asked Boyle if there was a better film that year and when Boyle said it Normans eyes literately Boggled LOL Regards mark687

I'd 100% agree - Herzog's Bad Lieutenant is a better film than 127 Hours. Cage is perfectly cast and pitches the performance perfectly. He does exactly what Klaus Kinski would have done in classic Herzog films.

The Goons almost reunited in the 1990s to re-record lost material from the earliest series of "The Goon Show". Harry Secombe was keen, Spike Milligan cautious, Michael Bentine requested time to think about it... shortly later he rang Dirk Maggs (who had proposed the idea) and said that he'd contacted Peter Sellers (who by that stage had been dead for about fifteen years) who had said he was uncomfortable with the idea and would rather they didn't do it.

That Simon Callow is joining the cast of the sequel to “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey”
Admittedly, wouldn’t have been my first guess.

A few budding young filmmakers are attempting to resurrect Amicus Studios.
I admire their ambition but I do hope they’re not trying to do too much. Wish them every success though.

Seems like being American isn't actually a disqualifier for working on Doctor Who. Gail Simone has been approached before.
Of course, this could mean anything, not just the main show, but still.

Chris and Bilie seem comfortable with each other again and Chris's praise may vary
Also the Director mentioned is literally as old as the show.
