johnhurtdoctor, do you know why there is a 20% under your name? I genuinely have never seen that before. I'm not johnhurtdoctor, obviously, but if you hover over it it says warning level, so I assume it is some degree of warning level. Just as I would assume that hitting 100% doesn't end well...

That was always my practice, to clearly delineate my official speak from my personal ramblings. It doesn't come across well I'm afraid. Never seen any mod on any forum do it in such a manner. If you've never seen it before, I'm afraid you haven't been paying attention. It's been used before on this very forum.

I don't think we've returned to a time of posh actors we are in a age every actor must walk the socially correct line in order to keep an active career. I dunno, maybe the 4 highest paid UK actors of the moment - Benedict Cumberbatch, Eddie Redmayne, Tom Hiddleston, Tom Hardy - are from at least some privilege. Sure there are plenty of actors from more working class backgrounds but it cant be denied that Chris has at least something of a point when talking about a glass ceiling of Ken Loach films and TV drama for most working class actors. I can see it getting worse with the amount of schools who have had to cut a lot of drama, music and art from their curriculum in the age of conservative austerity and there aren't the grants and bursaries there used to be.

Breaking out the redspeak. That was always my practice, to clearly delineate my official speak from my personal ramblings. Are you a moderator again now? You'd stopped hadn't you?

I’ve never used it, as far as I can recall, but Jason and, if I recall correctly, kimalysong have both used it (when she was still a mod). Other mods may have as well.
It’s just a way to signal a moderator post, as opposed to a moderator posting as a member.
No other meaning should be derived from it.

Not that it bothers me but the post starts with the word "moderation". Doesn't that signify everything it needs to?

I think folks are indulging in needless nitpicking here. Please stop.

Indeed. It's rather a sad state of affairs when honesty, a rarity in itself, seems to be so commonly and frequently misconstrued or dismissed as bitterness. Yes, I've seen Chris get some real abuse on FB today for this stuff. It's not like he's just crapping on the Hollywood stuff given his praise of Nic Cage in Gone In 60 Seconds. He's being honest...I respect that a lot more than being a shill for Disney. He's now, I guess, at the age where he can afford to not give a damn.

I haven't seen that. NSFW or OK for here? I did see quite a lot of "HE JUST DID IT FOR THE MONEY!" "BET HE WAS GLAD FOR THE CASH". Umm...yes...that's exactly what he says in the interview, folks. Why else would Chris Eccleston take GI Bloody Joe? It's like Michael Caine's line about never seeing Jaws IV ""I have never seen it, but by all accounts it is terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific.”

Geeks seeing geninue criticism of something like they like and seeing it as an attack on them? Never! (And by all accounts, he got on well with Russell T Davies) God, I hate the internet sometimes.

Which doesn't sound funny but works in practice.
