Hot Coaco and a story would be a nice title.

Yes, please. And with Easter just around the corner I think we even have enough chocolate in the house...
Most of these stories will be new to me which is great, but one question: Will 'A Death in the Family' make sense without also filling in the earlier gaps on Hex's journey or can I just miss that one story for now, without then affecting the last few Evelyn stories?

Indeed. Might I suggest combining in with a Hex listen through being that Evelyn and Hex's arcs are so thoroughly tied together up to A Death in the Family?

What's that? An excuse to listen to some Evelyn audios? Oh, go on, then... you twisted my arm...

Evelyn and chocolate sponge... an irresistable combination... perhaps I shall bake a chocolate sponge to munch on while listening. Baking is how I relax, y'see. Aw, damn it, I'm definitely in.

The Hex tie-in to 'A Death in the Family' won't matter for all you experienced listeners because you know the details already - but while I know there's a connection, I don't know what it is and to be inclusive shouldn't we allow for other newbies too? I can listen to 'The Harvest' as a starting point at any time. Then would it make sense omega to add in the following Hex stories so we can all be fully involved even if this is our first time in this part of the MR? Between 'Assassin in the Limelight' and 'A Death in the Family' could we add two more weeks with: - The Magic Mousetrap / Enemy of the Daleks - The Angel of Scutari / Project Destiny If this is all wrong (or right!), someone please tell me, but I believe (without knowing the details) those are the minimum 'Hex' stories needed to make sense of 'A Death in the Family' (and what follows)? What do people think?

Ive listened to The Magic Mousetrap, and it is pretty stand-alone im sure.
Oh and i reckon it is the best monthly range story.

Since making is a duel Evelyn/Hex listen through would double the time (as would as just Evelyn with one a week), just add Project Destiny into the week with A Death in the Family? A Town Called Fortune can be the following week with Crimes of Thomas Brewster. It’d also round off the Project trilogy as well.

Angel of Scutari ends on a cliffhanger leading into Project Destiny. The latter briefly recaps this to get listeners up to speed.

What do people think? Personally I'd prefer an Evelyn Smythe listen through without the separate Hex stories. I assume the Hex stuff would be part of any 'Hex listen through', which might (or might not) follow at some stage. These companion listen throughs are definitely a good reason to dust off some old main Range CD's and put them on once again, so the more the merrier.

Thanks, that sounds a very good idea if that will do it for us Evelyn/Hex semi-newbies. Other than 'The Harvest' as the Hex starting point, are there any essential Hex prerequisite stories for Project:Destiny that I would need to do as 'homework'? (Without spoilers please this is new MR ground for me! ) EDIT: You'd already answered this omega, thanks. 'Angel of Scutari' it is then.

Or, radical idea, we run a Hex themed listen through at the same time, trying to coincide Project Destiny and A Death in the Family for the same week? Listen through crossover!

Aside from brief moments or scenes, nothing substantial until Project Destiny if you've heard the previous Project stories. As long as you know there are times he will not put up with the Doctor's scheming and will let him know this you should be all good.

If we could maybe add in Project:Destiny as you suggest jb to complete that trio, then I and anyone else who needs to could do the couple of key Hex stories as 'homework'.? (I don't want to disrupt the Evelyn theme too much but I don't want to miss out on key MR twists either. )

I would listen to those 2 (Charlotte Pollard) before The Crimes of Thomas Brewster D.I. Patricia Menzies set 105. The Condemned (Charlotte Pollard) 116. The Raincloud Man (Charlotte Pollard) 143. The Crimes of Thomas Brewster (Evelyn Smythe) Week 9: 19th/20th May - A Death in the Family? should it be the last story

The Crimes of Thomas Brewster (Evelyn Smythe) For the Doctor Crimes of Thomas Brewster comes first, so not necessarily. In the Sixth Doctor's timeline The Condemned and The Raincloud Man come later.
