DOCTOR WHO - THE COMPANION CHRONICLES » 12.0. THE SECOND DOCTOR VOLUME 02 Out in June 2018SynopsisFour new stories from the Second Doctor's era... 1. The Curator’s Egg by Julian Richards Zoltan Clarkson (Eccentric Billionaire, Cybernetics Tycoon, Museum Curator) had a dream of a domestic dinosaur in every home. He bought the empty county of Dorset to work on this dream and develop cyborg dinosaur hybrids in a safe, contained environment. Now Clarkson lies insensate in the infirmary, his twin brother Andrew struggles to hold things together and dinosaurs walk the Earth. With the Doctor and Ben chasing monsters at sea, Polly has only a socially awkward scientist and the world's friendliest dog to help her prevent the rise of the ultimate predators... 2. Dumb Waiter by Rob Nisbet The Doctor and Victoria attend a civilised garden party. But their genial hostess, Mrs De Winter, is convinced that the garden conceals a secret; something about Carlos the head waiter who never speaks. The hidden truth can be glimpsed by people less accustomed to the mask of politeness and cake. People like Jamie. And people like Leela, the mysterious “warrior of the Seventeen”… 3. The Iron Maid by John Pritchard “I saw a wheel up in the heavens – a wheel of fire and swords... And I saw a heap of armour that was waiting for a Maid to put it on. I feared that it was meant for me, but a voice said otherwise – that another Maid was coming and she would save our country from its enemies...” The TARDIS has arrived in France in the fourteenth century - a time of devastation and despair. In an empty church beside a crowded graveyard, Zoe meets a woman who claims to see a dreadful future waiting for the world. 4. The Tactics of Defeat by Tony Jones In the rain-swept jungle of Belize, Captain Ruth Matheson and Zoe Heriot are both about to discover just what sacrifices they are prepared to make when faced with a seventeenth century threat that might just spell death for millions of innocent people. Does the end justify the means? Sometimes winning feels like exactly like losing… Written By: Julian Richards, Rob Nisbet, John Pritchard, Tony Jones Directed By: Helen Goldwyn, Lisa Bowerman CastAnneke Wills (Polly / Narrator), Elliot Chapman (Ben Jackson / Andrew Clarkson / Zoltan Clarkson), Frazer Hines (Jamie McCrimmon / The Second Doctor), Wendy Padbury (Zoe Heriot / Narrator), Daphne Ashbrook (Captain Ruth Matheson), Louise Jameson (Leela / Mrs De Winter / Narrator), Matthew Brenher (Deakin), Jo Woodcock (Marie). Other parts played by the cast.

I'm seriously worried about this. It's due to be released next month, and unless there's recording details Big Finish are holding back on, there's still a trailer and cover yet to materialise. I think this one might just be pushed back unless there's a news item soon.
The fact there's a director TBA indicates there may be something special to look forward to with the fourth story.

According to Ian Atkins 1 was recorded the week the 1st doc Vol 2 was released last year and details on that were/ are considered Top Secret.
But yes its very odd 50% of the info still not up with only about 6 weeks to go before release.

Eh, I think it's probably just a mistake on the website. I remember the plot details for one of the stories and trailer for the first volume was released relativily later then usual.

Regards mark687 Unless there's something groundbreaking (New Series related?), you'd think we'd at least have a cover. We still don't have a synopsis for Tony's story, The Tactics of Defeat and that was the first thing announced about the story. Maybe BBC Wales are forcing Big Finish to wait before it can be announced.

All we've had on this for formal announcements is the news story about the Companion Chronicles expanding ( 12th Feb 2018).

I think you're reading too much into more than one thing. Weren't various CC details fairly close to release last year too?
There can be a cycle of here of reading too much into something then being underwhelmed when the actual details are known *and then doing the same thing with something else*.

I must of been thinking of when the trailer for the second First Doctor volume went up relativily 'late' last year (25th April) which compartivily isn't that much different.

The Fourth Doctor stories this year have had the story details, covers and trailers uploaded pretty close to the line, and we know that those are recorded pretty far in advance compared to other releases. I guess depending on what's going to be ready come June, something might be bumped up.

Normally at this point (about a month before release) we've got the story details, cover and trailer or a release. Here, we have three titles, two with story synopses, no cover and no trailer. Unless there's a good reason for waiting until the last minute, which I'm sure there is, it's likely this release will be delayed a month or so. If they were recorded by June last year, as stated above, it's possible Big Finish are waiting on some kind of embargo to lift.

I wouldn't say there's no room to speculate, but this is kind of pushing. Big Finish knows that they've got a very devout audience for the range - we demanded it to come back, after all - and it could just be Big Finish building up anticipation. The trailer for the First Doctor volume two set was released later then usual (25th April), as well, compartivily speaking. Given that it seems Big Finish timeline for the new logo seems to have been accelerated (the Iron Bright cover), it's possible that's also been a factor.

We'll find out in due course.

The EAs last year maybe. But having such exact details is... um... is 'dedicated' a good word?

Having said that, that's me taking that info at face value. I'm sure it's correct, but the one time you provided a list with dates for my Dark Shadows podcast, after asking me why there was no podcast for a certain release and I answered that there was, the dates were slightly off and some podcasts - including the disputed one - were missing entirely.

Was that the one where it was on the CHS website but not iTunes?
