If Davros is used again, it should be in a story that explores something in him, or he opens up a storyline that's has something to say. Just using Davros because he can be used or to drum up more pre-orders isn't the way to go.

Aside from a brief cameo in The Lights of Skaro, Davros hasn't been used by Big Finish since 2013 and while I didn't enjoy Daleks Among Us, it did try say explore him further with Falkus. Big Finish have always used him sparingly, so I don't really understand your criticism here. I'd imagine the first volume of the Eighth Doctor: Time War box sets went down VERY well and Doom Coalition was a nice jumping on point for a new fans that many new listeners seem to have taken to. I've never seen Big Finish resort to such cheap tactics ever, and certiantly not now.

I reckon they would- Time War is a new series range, after all. If they could get Bleach in then why wouldn’t they?
Molloy's been with them for a long time and Big Finish and Molloy from interviews seem to be very fond of each other and have a good working relationship. People coming in from the revival understand that Davros is a legacy role, regardless. A note on the website would cover it (Davros is played by Terry Molloy, who took on the role of Davros in the 1985 and succeded original actor Michael Fisher since 2003 by reprising the role at Big Finish).
Yes, Davros is a legacy role...and the legacy was passed onto Julian Bleach. If they have "new series Davros" he should absolutely be given the chance to play the part. If he doesn't want to, fair enough but he's as valid as Molloy.

I'm honestly really liking the assistant angle. Gooderson with Molloy, Molloy with Bleach or vice versa. They're all very fine actors in and out of the mask and I'd like to see what a kinda, sorta The Two/Three Davroses story would sound like.

Daleks Among Us never fulfilled that potential, and it was a poor showing for Davros. The whole story was full of wasted potential (especially Will Arrowsmith, who got screwed over by the person who thought him up!). He's got to be pulling strings, the puppet master to someone, manipulating events so that he comes out on top. The Main Range story Davros is an excellent example of this, where everyone but the Doctor dismisses the warning signs, and so Davros plays them like a violin. This and Curse of Davros are what I believe to the best use of the character in Big Finish, because they expose a fantastic angle to the character, and Terry has such brilliant chemistry with Colin Baker. Mind you, Terry's performance as a completely batcrap cray cray Davros in Terror Firma deserves an honourable mention. I, Davros is a superb mini-series that fleshes him out while being true to what we know and fear about Davros. As for the first New Adventures box set, it's a cameo where he doesn't interact with anyone, and doesn't factor into the plot at all.

Yeah, I read it thanks.Where you advocate giving Terry Molloy the star role and Julian Bleach a support one? I'm sure that would go down well. Imagine saying "Sorry Ms Gomez, we've got a good relationship with Geoffrey Beevers so he's playing The Master on audio- you can play his assistant or something". That would be silly. So would offering Bleach a lesser part just because Molloy was playing the part first.

I said that there was clear appreciation of Molloy's performance. So much so, Bleach might not want to take on the role out of an actor's courtesy.

Anything that shows Davros off to be something more than “shouty man in charge of Daleks” would be worthwhile IMO. I’m especially fond of the angle taken in The Magician’s Apprenice/The Witches Familiar, where he just lets the Daleks exterminate Missy and Clara because he wants the best for his ‘children’, so a situation where he doesn’t like what the Daleks are doing but let’s it happen anyway out of his sense of duty to them would be interesting.

He’s already had the role for 10 years, so that’s null and void. And if I’m honest, I prefer what Bleach did with the role than Molloy, so there’s clear appreciation for them both.

I'm of the mind that Davros's story in the original series was done in Genesis and he should never have come back and the original series really didn't know what to do with him. ), but Big Finish and Moffatt have served him well. I do think that having a 'creator' around diminishes the Daleks and their power, though.
But, I'm up for further exploration, but I'd rather see Davros around in the universe, making of it what he will, with nay a Dalek in sight (they can be in other stories). Davros can work as an impetus for more traditional, but also unnerving stories in that format.

How about ... A Season 18 Tom Baker story with Molloy as Davros and Banks & Hardy as the 80s Cybermen. No Daleks (this fanw*nk thing is so easy! )

If they put Davros in a Time War set, I think they should try to get Bleach in. Simply because New Series themed release, New Series Davros.
There's actually a fairly interesting setup for such a story. The Doctor recalls trying to save him (almost ashamedly so), what could make the Doctor actively try to rescue Davros?

I guess, but where do you go from there? Recast Bleach as Davros in subsquent prior chronological stories? I think Molloy would feel put out about that and I can't see Big Finish doing that to him. I guess, there could be a plot reason for the voice change, but it feels disingenous. As I said, people get that it's a legacy role. I don't think keeping Molloy on is going to be that much of a dealbreaker.
I think for Eight, it's an act of mercy. With his people's degeneration into their darker impulses, he wants to be better. Maybe even attempt to guide Davros out of the darkness, as he's been prone to try to do agasint hope, trying to believe in something.

We seem to be worrying a lot about Molloy and Bleach's feelings.
In the acting profession roles are recast all the time, for all sorts of reasons. More so in the theatre, less so on TV, but it happens. Molloy and Bleach are both professionals. I'm not convinced that either of them would be all that worried if BF used the other as Davros. Unless they read DWM, would they even know at all?
I'm sure they both have a lot more to think about in their personal and professional lives than whether or not BF employ them for 1 or 2 days' work as Davros.
