He's there, between Catrin Stewart and James Joyce! I swear he wasn’t earlier! Sonataran battlefield stealth technology? (On second thoughts, no, I can't imagine a stealthy Sonataran either!)

Sonataran battlefield stealth technology? (On second thoughts, no, I can't imagine a stealthy Sonataran either!) It is what those sneaky Rutans are doing.... Rutan scum have no honour! Sonataran warriors do not hide their identity! Our enemies must be faced with pride! (Helmets included see terms and conditions of obliteration.)

Wow, they got that out as the clock struck midnight, didn't they? I think that might be a first.

Just listened to Empancipation on the commute. The pairing of River and Leela is great. At first the story itself feels quite slight. That is, until the last 10 minutes, which are brilliant and really elevate the whole thing and bring the events together.

Well that was a very good overall set.
Emancipation and Big Blue Book exactly what you would expect from those team ups.
Narcissus is good as well but as usual (and I'm sure this is just me) Jemma Redgrave keeps sounding bored to tears I mean I know she's being level headed and in command but I'd argue the climax needs emotional investiture which she just doesn't convey.
Inside Every Warrior This is worth the price of admission, its Excellent brilliant performances all round, if you were on the fence regarding the series this should convince you, lovely steampunk feel.

I will be listening to this later today. In related news on International Women's Day comedian Richard Herring answers ignorant men's question asking when International Men's Day. He also raises money for Refuge doing this. Throw him a few quid if you can www.gofundme.com/whensinternationalmensday2019

The Big Blue Book is bonkers! The story is unique and the concept of the named Big Blue Book presents some rather interesting imagery. Vassa’s obsession with burning reminded me of Tubbs from The League of Gentlemen!
It’s nice to have a story where Ace and Benny are having their own adventure away from the Doctor. Whilst I enjoyed the story, I’m not sure it’s the best example for this set. Benny isn’t in it all that much; she’s absent for at least half of it and it doesn’t feel like she contributes a great deal. It’s very much Sophie Aldred’s story as Ace, who is good fun. Aldred actually conveys a lengthy piece of the story, in which she talks out loud to herself and describes everything around her (basically what not to do in an audio!), really well.

Might start on the Eighth of March today... if I do not fall asleep after a long and hard time at work. Still have not finished the 8DAs, oh well, something to look forward to next week (tomorrow is my sisters HUGE birthday bash, so party and recovery might take all weekend... ).

I loved Inside Every Warrior. Gemma Langford writes for the trio perfectly and that’s matched by the cast pitching their performances the same. We get insights of the Paternoster Gang leading their own story in the likes of The Snowmen, The Crimson Horror and Deep Breath. This takes those and carries on with it to create a really nice pilot for their own series, which I’m now looking forward to even more. Appropriately, it’s Vastra and Jenny who are the focus of this story, the latter especially, which is rather nice given that Vastra and Strax have had a Big Finish appearance apiece previously.
And there’s a wonderful Victorian aesthetic throughout, with madcap science experiments to boot!

First ep listen to........not bad.
My big complaint is the volume levels.....booming when the music is on whisper quiet for much of the dialogue volume was up and down like a yo-yo

I thought I’d show some restraint and save Narcissus for tomorrow, but that didn’t happen!
It’s a very low key story for UNIT, which is nice. It takes modern technology and adds a Doctor Who twist to it, which is a good combination for this series. The addition of the Zygon Osgood is something I’ve been wanting from the UNIT range for a while now, as there’s so much potential. This story doesn’t tap into it all that much, but the two Osgood’s are well realised and their abilities come into play a little, so it’s a nice insight into what the future will most probably bring for the series. I feel as though Jemma Redgrave has been good for the past few sets, but I particularly enjoyed her in Narcissus. I think part of the issue some have with her is her voice is rather monotone and straightforward, which sometimes comes across as her being a flat actor, when I don’t think that’s nevessarily the case.
Overall, a brilliant set! They’re four great and standalone stories that give us different insights into just some of the women of the Doctor Who universe. And the series is all the more better for them. Really, you can’t get much better of a jumping on point for the spin-offs than this. At the very least it presents the opportunity for a little taster of the further adventures of these characters, even if their own ranges don’t quite appeal.

Started on this, decided to save up my perceived favorite for last.... so started with UNIT and the Paternoster Gang. And what can I say? It was great. Better than I had expected.
One question I have for you all- when is the UNIT adventure taking place? We have two Osgoods, but are these the ones from Series 8 or Series 9? Just wondering.
