They Have Referred it to Police Right Surely its full on Harassment now? Regards mark687 Ok.. So I walk into work at my usual time 6:45am.. Theres 4 emails waiting for my all the way up to 6:30PM. The CEO is on A/L so the CEO In Charge sent me an email and People & Culture/H.R. . I pushed the point in my email at 6:50am. Received X 2 confirmation/acknowledgements of emails from them 2 confirming we are going to have a meeting today. I warned them when this happened 2 weeks ago. I literally said "January 2024 will be a date that will be remembered in my Department. I will be a walking disaster waiting for a place to occur if my life is threatened." Have they not watched your action movies 😂 Seriously hope you OK Bro there are some weirdos out there. |

I told her I felt I had to tell my twin brother of the threat from a male I don't know what he looks like. We are Identical Twins and he works a few Government Buildings away from me- I don't want him to get potentially attacked by someone. The discussion was had also about my personal safety going to and from work. She was typing as we were talking, I gave her easily 1 pages worth of notes to discuss with the CEO/ Risk & Compliance and the Police. Basically I am to wait for contact from her in the next day or so- full legalities- previous cases/ checking up on Policy etc. Does anyone have a punching bag I can destroy..... |

Great that they ask you what they want to happen but there should be a policy in place for dealing with threats like this. And threats should be reported to the police. There definitely is a specific policy in place, however the way it's worded and "titled/headed" you could argue it doesn't specifically cover/protect me in my unique high risk role. The head of H.R. is urgently looking into that. So just a general update.. "What's the difference between the American comedian Katt Williams dropping factual truth bombs in that 2 hrs 46 min interview over the weekend.. and "AussieDoctorWhoFan" dropping factual truth bombs backed up with evidence? ".. Hopefully that follow up meeting I was promised will happen before my C.O.B. Friday. "Others" are getting involved. I deal in truth. Too bad if you don't like the way it is being presented. |

Just adding to the choir to say I’m so sorry you’re being put through this. Ask the risk of sounding naive and glossing over a million complicating factors: do you see any benefit in bypassing your employers and going straight to the police? Or at least giving your employers that ultimatum if they let this drag on one day longer at the expense of your safety?

Merry Christmas everyone and goodwill to all! Well, if I'm being honest, to almost all.
So, it came round to present-opening time and I opened mine. Seeing as how I chose it and ordered it from my favourite online giant retailer, for myself, and took delivery of it myself, there was no 'surprise' and so there seemed little point in opening the shipping box and wrapping the actual pressie. I checked the shipping code, yes that's the box, and the box then simply remained unopened for the last couple of weeks, until this afternoon.
Imagine my untrammelled delight on discovering not the rather nice new GPS unit I'd ordered, but an approximately £2 value plastic bricks toy for the slightly over 5's.
As it is Christmas Day, I have simply started the online returns process and said loudly and firmly: 'Of course, this must have been an honest mistake by a busy worker and I hope they don't get in too much trouble over it.'
So, please don't imagine I am now in spirit a Dalek attack squad, full of rage and exterminate-yness. It is Christmas Day after all.
No, imagine me as the 'Earthshock' Cybermen, marching onwards, step by implacable step, cold and determined. I will reach the bridge and get my refund. And it will be excellent.

This from the BBC rather made my day - everything will be AI, apparently. 
I knew I'd heard all this before, and then I remembered where and when. A long time ago, in the much-loved 'Peanuts' cartoon strip, one of the characters (I think it was the oh-so-'mature' Lucy) went through a phase of labelling everything as 'Hi-Fi' (e.g. 'my Hi-Fi hair comb') because back then, 'Hi-Fi' (which, young readers, meant 'High Fidelity' and did actually mean something when applied to audio systems as a mark of their quality of sound reproduction, as it was intended) yes 'Hi-Fi' became a techy slang buzzword and 'Peanuts' made fun of this tendency, as it deserved.
I think it was Lucy's younger brother Linus who would ask in honest puzzlement 'how can you have a 'Hi-Fi hair comb'. Which of course, you couldn't.  So I have brushed my teeth with my non-AI toothbrush in front of my non-AI mirror and have no plans to change.  |

We discussed and debated 'Doctor Who', old movies and other things from time to time and when we disagreed we respectfully disagreed and I valued his opinions and comments very much, perhaps the more so because I knew he often brought a different perspective from my own.
I know he would appreciate a 'Doctor Who' send-off, so for Davy: 'There should have been another way.' |

There definitely is a specific policy in place, however the way it's worded and "titled/headed" you could argue it doesn't specifically cover/protect me in my unique high risk role. The head of H.R. is urgently looking into that. So just a general update.. I have, however, never seen you post anything anyone could possibly take exception to. I get that someone may have maliciously reported a post, but can't imagine anything you could have done that would warrant the mods contacting you about it. |
