I haven't read them, but a boxset of BLODD HARVEST and GOTH OPERA would get me reaching for my debit card. I am surprised that Big Finish haven't announced the Novel adaptation. I know it is not released until December next year, but as it it part of the five release bundle I would have expected it to be announced. Perhaps we'll get an announcement as an early Christmas present before the end of the year. I do hope so. As I understand it from Sarah Sutton at a convention; she; Peter; Janet and Matthew are recording some audios sometime this month. Who knows? They might be recording 'COLD FUSION' with Sylvester; Travis and Yasmin already. I hope so. Tim.

Was Lungbarrow ruled out? I seem to remember the odd denial at some point in the past, but I don't know if it was for the 5 upcoming releases.

At BF Day 7 David Richardson said he'd asked Marc Platt, Marc Platt refused to adapt it himself, but was reluctant to let anyone else do it, this coupled with the mixed fan feeling about the book means its "Highly Unlikely-Never".

Okay that's interesting. Perhaps it's not in November they're recording them. Matthew will be in the UK in December since he's attending the H-Con convention in Portsmouth. So maybe they'll record some audios then. I don't know. Let's see what happens. Thanks. Tim.

Ahh I see, thanks for that, we can probably be 99% certain it's not that then.
I hope they tell us soon because I went for the bundle, I don't normally do bundles, but it was a good offer. Cold Fusion does sound logical, but I've only read about 6 of the Virgin books and the rest of my experience comes from the last few adaptions, so i'm clueless otherwise. It genuinely feels like the mystery prize.

That's a shame about the possibility of no Lungbarrow, because I've got some great ideas on how to adapt it.
The ones I'd do would be in pairs. Cant remember them all of the top of my head, so I'll just do a couple and come back later.
1. Lords of the storm/ the crystal bucelpheaus (5th) 2. Falls the shadow/ white darkness (7th) 3. Blood harvest (7th)/ goth opera (5th) 4. Twilight of the gods/ the dark path (2nd) 5. Sleepy/ so vile a sin (7th)

But on the Facebook page, yes. H-Con are pretty slow updating their website which is rather annoying. Last time I spoke to David Tarrant (who's organising the event) about it, he said 'his web designer has been away filming and there is a lot of background work going on to get the other 3 event sites running'. This was back in October when I messaged him about updating the website with Peter and Matthew's appearances at the event. Here's the link for Matthew's appearance at H-Con here - www.facebook.com/HCon2015/photos/a.477595019059649.1073741828.476059609213190/546401528845664/?type=3&theaterTim.

You can call me a curmudgeon but this news pleases me no end. As much as I would love to see it, I think it's one of those fantastic stories that is so intrinsically tied into its format and past series history we just won't see adapted. Like Alien Bodies (which would be impossible in a four-parter) or Shakedown (because of licencing issues I'm fairly sure). Then again Janet Fielding and Matthew Waterhouse did both say "never" to Big Finish, so who knows? He might change his mind one day. I'd love to see an adaptation of what have been considered to be the lesser New Adventures stories like Deceit and The Pit. Big Finish could most certainly help give them a new lease of life, their purview seems to be rescuing mishandled and overlooked elements of the show after all. The one that I would buy for the price of five however would definitely be Falls the Shadow adapted by Daniel O'Mahony. It still ranks among one of the best Doctor Who stories I've read irrespective of the medium, it's absolutely marvellous.

So that one seems unlikely. I think BF are unlikely to choose some of the lesser NAs, it's the very fact these ones were big hitters that make them sellable to the BF audience.

I think Dying Days is highly likely to resurface at some point either as a BBC reprint or a BF adaptation (suitably rewritten to replace the Brigadier with Yates/Bambera/AN Other). From a commercial point of view, when you look at what it goes for on ebay etc, it would likely be a very lucrative opportunity for either BF or the BBC.

I thought Marc Platt was working on a special project for Big Finish, which was either rumored to be Lungbarrow or a second Philip Hinchcliffe presents? Does any one else remember this rumor or did I imagine it?

Does any one else remember this rumor or did I imagine it? That was David Richardson's answer "Yes Marc Platt's working on something for us. No its not Lungburrow" for the reasons I stated.
As for PHP 2 I don't know, I think BF were surprised by fan reaction to the price that they may be thinking "is fan backlash over price worth the cost of collaborating with PH again"?

In theory, if Marc Platt has something to do with the final novel adaption next year, is it conceivable that he could turn the Cat's Cradle trilogy into a 3-disc adventure? I'm only really basing this on the fact he wrote the first story, I've nothing else to go on.

Although if we can't have Lungburrow, which I would really love a Big Finish continuity tweaked audio adaption of. Then Cold Fusion would be my hope. I guess Marc Platt could be working on a project unrelated with Doctor Who?

I guess Marc Platt could be working on a project unrelated with Doctor Who? The thing is that if BF did do a continuity tweaked version most of the story would have to be chucked out since the longer the revived series continues the more the more esoteric for the sake of it elements are overwritten by canon. Okay, Who doesn't have an official canon but TV has primacy over all others. The entire Other is, if not wiped entirely, then heavily retconned by the simple fact of us seeing the First Doctor and Susan escape on screen. The Doctor's references to his childhood and being a father pretty much erase the loom nonsense. A BF version would need to be a definite alternate history, almost Unbound, and do it straight, or not at all. It doesn't fit and no amount of squinting will make it fit.
