Character has just put a Fugitive Doctor & TARDIS on sale on its website. Impressively Character’s website is struggling so much with the demand, it makes Big Finish’s look like a model of efficiency. I’m on my fourth attempt to buy it as every time I hit an error. Update; the entire website seems to have crashed. Character have effectively DDOS’d themselves. 😂 This is why online queuing tends to be used these days. That's been leaked early I imagine this was supposed to among Tomorrows Toy Fair announcements Regards mark687

I’ve given up on the website for now. Maybe it’ll calm down in a bit, but somehow I suspect it more likely I’ll come back to find it sold out and on eBay for £100.

I think there’ll be plenty of stock. The Regeneration set seems to have been the most popular online exclusive they’ve done - sonic notwithstanding - and that was available for quite a few weeks afterwards. Just need to wait for the site to get back up.
I think a Character Online exclusive wouldn’t have been unveiled at Toy Fair, as that’s to gather retailer interest. I think the PR company were mistaken, and the announcement was always today and not tomorrow. It’s unusual for official announcements alongside Toy Fair because it’s never guaranteed the products will end up being released, but hopeful that tomorrow will bring some sneak peeks of 60th and Season 1 figures and the retailers are interested.
Lovely set anyway, they’ve nailed the Jo Martin likeness especially. Apparently a hidden Easter egg too, guessing a TARDIS interior card, as it seems specifically hidden in all the promo photos.

According to SFX Editor, this is the only Who announcement coming at Toy Fair. So nothing else tomorrow. Given Character’s current pace with figures, I’d expect Season 1 tie-ins about the time of Season 2. The set does look great. I expect it’ll look even better with a confirmation email attached to it. Sadly website is now down completely, I think the official social medias sharing the news was nail in the coffin.

Well few hours later I’m still hitting rate limited exceeded when I try to pay for it. Tried different browsers, tried actually registering an account to no avail. Maybe if it’s still in stock for a few days I’ll have some luck. But clearly not today.
My guess on eBay pricing was only a tenner out btw; already a scalper selling 6 for £89 a piece.

Happily Character’s website seems to have stabilised so I managed to get an order through.

Just an FYI, there are Doctor Who figures at Character’s stall at Toy Fair; Fifteen, Ruby, Wrarth Warrior and Fifteen’s sonic spotted so far. There was no way that the Fugitive Doctor & TARDIS was a planned Toy Fair announcement as there’d be no mileage in them showcasing their own exclusive, the event is to gather retailer interest. Planned to be announced the same day originally, perhaps, but not to be revealed there.
Fingers crossed the retailers bite the bullet, as they’re must haves. And today has brought the news that Woolworths will be returning to the high street!

The optimist in me thinks those three figures will see the light of day and are planned for release to some degree, likely as a bigger wave - coatless Fourteen, Donna, Meep & Toymaker anyone? - but it’ll be retailer interest that’ll determine the sales and therefore longevity of a retailer revival for the range. A bit like the 2020 wave with the Resolution Dalek in.

A bit like the 2020 wave with the Resolution Dalek in. It would feel mighty odd to have a Wrarth Warrior with no Meep. So here’s hoping. They could also do glasses-wearing Fourteen for a really budget variant figure. I did hear rumours one of yesterday’s videos (haven’t got round to watching yet myself) hinted at a glasses-wearing variant of Fugitive too. So that might be lined up for a B&M set. Not sure what they could do with it though.

These aren’t official announcements, they’re products to gain retailer interest. Not sure he quite gets that; I expect he’d be equally cross when readers mither him if the products never got released after being covered in his magazine!

The Fugitive is in the house! Fantastic set and potentially the best likeness in the whole range; casting the plastic in the skin colour and not painting it is a game changer. Would like to see that treatment for other Doctors in future B&M sets; Tom & Capaldi would especially benefit, I think.

They did it with Ultimate Adventure Sixie in the last TARDIS two pack last year so think it might be becoming the norm for these kind of sets at least.

It’s been years since I bought any Who figures but had to get Fugitive when she was announced. She arrived today and I don’t regret it! She looks stunning.
