M.R. James - maybe one or two of those famous ghost stories were (in his own phrase) 'drawn from the life'...
A Fourth Doctor Gothic perhaps? James was (in his 'day job') a renowned scholar of ancient languages and manuscripts so perhaps the Doctor drops in to consult him about some mysterious writings and then (as it so often does in his stories) something rises which should have been left undisturbed...

It's a perfect idea. Not only can you have James in it but do the story in his style - it'd be wonderful. If it were audio, I'd like Colin to meet him I think. Tom and Lalla went off to see his birthplace in The Haunting Of Malkin Place in the 4DAs but that was after James' death - it'd be nice to see him pop up in person.

That would be great!

Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald. Their musical collaborations are timeless - I'd like to think their friendship would lend itself well to saving another world with the Doctor.
And one day, when it's determined that enough time as passed, I'd love for the Doctor to have a space adventure with David Bowie.

A really interesting history with a lot to dig into for character development who could get on like a house on fire with Ol' Sixie. On the same note, I'd like to see Three and Billie Holiday teaming up and One, Ian, and Barbara (Susan optional) in the Harlem Renaissance. I'd love to see a Golden Age of Hollywood story as well. Give me that one off team up of Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn with a solo Eight.

The Marx Brothers. I reckon the Doctor would either prefer Zeppo, or make a terrible gaffe and not realise who he was. (Not sure who you'd cast, I don't think Franz Lazarus - Chico in 'Flywheel, Shyster and Flywheel' - is with us any more. If it was for BF, might be worth getting Lenny Henry to reprise his Radio 3 Groucho).

As for the Doctor who has an adventure with David Bowie, I think it goes without saying it needs to be 12!😉 Peter did model his Doctor on Bowie after all!

I would love a story in Jamesian style and Sixie would be excellent - the most literary (and verbose!) of Doctors.
BF got into a bit of a tangle with the 'Malkin Place' webpage as I remember. The webpage did originally say 'go to visit the birthplace of M.R.James' (and I got all excited!) but they meant Henry James. Who wasn't born in Rye either! He did live there at one time and that's what the story actually says they intended to do, go to visit where he lived. A super story, Henry Jamesian rather than M.R. but one of my favourite 4DAs.

It really does seem the sort of person BF would be interested in including. I'd be surprised if it hasn't been considered already, even just in pitches. Personally I'd like to see him on the TV show even as I think he does deserve to reach a new generation who obviously won't remember the Christmas Ghost Stories and probably weren't watching the Gattis revivals in the past years. As you say even taking his wonderful stories out of the equation he was a titan of a scholar and there'd be stories to tell there too. I'd maybe ask Sam Kisgart to pass the message to Mark ,that if he wants to write a story about James, the next time he's in recording as the Unbound Master.

I think the world is full of human beings capable of good, capable of evil I do get your point of view and why you reach that decision and it’s your right to do so. I watch him but that’s a new bit of information for me so being the Catholic that I am I just add him to my prayers and hope somewhere down the line someone has added me to their prayers for all my failures too😉

NOIRE (loved that XBOX game only game I played where I just liked climbing in classic motors turning in the radio ignoring the storyline and driving.River on the Riviera with Cary Grant ❤️

Sixie should meet Gilbert and Sullivan 🎼 😀Come on after hearing Sixie sing their stuff in Doctor Who and the Pirates would it be amazing for him to meet the men themselves!😀 Maybe one of the leads in the premier of one of their operettas would fall ill, and Sixie would have no choice but to fill in for them!😄

Tony Hancock: Once one of Britain’s best known entertainers and most well known for his radio series ‘Hancock’s Half Hour’ which he starred alongside Carry On alumni Kenneth Williams, Hattie Jacques and Sid James. It was reportedly so popular in its day, that publicans would complain to the BBC about their establishments being empty because people would head home to listen to it.
Despite his immense talent, he did have somewhat of an ego and a self destructive streak which ultimately led to him committing suicide during the latter half of the ‘60s.
Would be interesting to see a story where the crew either have to gate crash a recording of ‘HHH’ or perhaps one set during his time in Australia. Having such an extremely troubled figure along for the ride could make for some great drama.

Has DW ever done Jack the Ripper? In passing. Jago And Litefoot got caught up with him in The Wax Princess in Series 7....then Madame Vastra apparently ate Jack just before his introduction in A Good Man Goes To War. How did she find him? "Stringy" I guess the issue with Jack in Who is...you need to have hookers and that's not too BBC 7pm!
