So do we think - No Romana? Or do we think - No Lalla Ward? This is the cast list for Gallifrey TW4 Louise Jameson (Leela) Richard Armitage (Rassilon) Pippa Bennett-Warner (Livia) Nicholas Briggs (The Daleks) Seán Carlsen (Narvin) Samuel Clemens (Mantus) Miles Richardson (Braxiatel) No sign of Lalla Ward or Romana???!!!

Isn’t the fan consensus that the BBC said “only TV Romanas from now on”? So it’ll be Lalla or Nada. Nada? Nada as in "nothing."

D'oh me. I wondered how I could have missed a new Romana on TV

Has there ever been any specific reason why they can’t use new incarnations of Romana? I find it rather odd that Big Finish aren’t permitted by the BBC to do that yet are able to come up with totally new incarnations of the Master.

This thread is the only time I've ever heard that particular assertion. I mean, we had Juliet Landau as the third Romana, but that particular timeline has now been cauterized. And we've followed Romana II into the Time War where, even if she hadn't died at the end of the previous release, it seems unlikely she would have survived the war anyway, so there's not much call for a new incarnation.

The Master survived the Time War. The Monk survived the Time War (granted it gets hazy, but he is with Missy) So why can’t Romana!?
And if there is no call for a new incarnation...how loud would you like me to shout!?

I would like to think there's scope for several incarnations of Romana. After all, Tamasan has regenerated twice and we're about to get a new incarnation of Rasmus. As well as Rassilon. I realise they can't do it with Narvin, but i'd be really excited to hear a new incarnation of Romana. Would she be more ruthless? More reckless? And while we're on the subject of regeneration. Anyone else want to see a new incarnation of Susan?

Am on board for this one but ONLY because they have said it is the FINAL set 😎 Armitage should be excellent as Rassilon but am hopeful Romana will make an appearance somehow I believe she regenerated into Jodie and has hijacked the Doctors persona in her effort to escape the Daleks delaying Capaldi regeneration into David Warner 🤪

Have they actually said GTW4 will be the final one? I saw people say the same thing about 8DTW4, but then BF has gone on teasing future 8DTW sets. Given how well they sell, and how much the Time War is seeping into unrelated ranges, I have a hard time believing they'd just end it... unless there were mitigating circumstances....

Yeah, there's no chance there won't be another 8DTW set or six million. I think they've been a little more direct about this being the last Gallifrey TW, but then, the Gallifrey range has been cancelled a number of times before...

Cover and additional cast and story details revealed: www.bigfinish.com/releases/v/gallifrey-time-war-4-1796I can’t say I’m thrilled with the Ravenous returning; they were so lacking in every department. I didn’t mind the slight connection to them in An Unearthly Woman, so maybe this will be more of the same.

Fairly certain the Ravenous stopped being a threat long before the Time War even began.

Very promising synopsis and the gang’s all back together.
The Ravenous is a bit random. As a predator of Time Lords it makes sense they’d be brought back during the Time War, but I really didn’t think there was anything more to do with them. They were effective in parts of Ravenous, but overall just kinda meh. Guess having a boxset without a returning monster is just impossible for Big Finish these days.
Also please let this actually be an ending. It just feels so rare that any Big Finish release comes with any sort of finality these days and I’d welcome a spin-off which actually had the guts to end its story.

I can't stress just how desperately I want this to be the case too. I was only saying yesterday how they always seem to chicken out at the last minute and keep things open-ended. Heck, it already feels like they're backtracking with this release by bringing Romana back into the fold. I've every available appendage crossed that the promised "end of the Time War" for some characters is actually going to stick (and by stick I mean somebody dies, not that someone gets ejected from the War and doesn't have a way back...). Also, I've heard people describe some of the BF artwork as cinematic before, but this could be an actual movie poster. It's stunning!

Oh, goodness me no. I don't want Gallifrey to ever end! And as regards the Time War section of it, it certainly can't end until Big Finish can talk Timothy Dalton into appearing in a set

Wot no K-9?
I jest (a bit) but he is about the one available Gallifrey regular not returning. Should be a great finale. I'll second the idea that it really should be a final finale for some character, if they tease that it is, but when most of the characters are Time Lords there's always the orange light option. Unless that's why the Ravenous are being brought into the story.
I'm a bit ho-hum about the Ravenous; they should be very scary monsters for any Time Lord-based story but I don't think they've ever reached the heights they could have done. But I do think the excellent artwork is making them look a good deal more - well, ravenous - than they did to begin with, and that's all to the good.

For what it's worth, this will be my final foray into Gallifrey, so it definitely has an ending!

For what it's worth, this will be my final foray into Gallifrey, so it definitely has an ending! If ever there was a need for a "I don't like this" button... Sorry to read this Scott - off the top of my head you've been involved in some shape or form since what..series 4 of Gallifrey?..so it must feel a little strange to be either be handing over the reins or bringing closure to a series you've been involved with for so long (if you feel like confidentially sharing which one of those it is I can assure you I am the absolute soul of discretion...😇😂). Anyway.. if Gallifrey : Time War 4 is to be your final contribution, then for what it's worth I'll tip my hat to you with thanks for the part you've played.
