Doctor Who – The Collection Season 20 Blu-Ray, complete with the new Omega, a lad in the chicken costume, the return of the Mara, Martin Clunes, Mawdryn (the most grisly, 'orrible looking alien featured in Doctor Who for many a year), Terminus (which suffers from great episode 1, tedious episodes 2-4 syndrome), Tegan getting an eternal admirer, followed by Anthoiny Ainley doing a French accent. Plus the Five Doctors, and a heap of extras. All this, available from September 18, unless they delay it, which they possibly will.

Ordered the Fourth Doctor comic anthology, for the original Star Beast if nothing else. Hopefully if this does well we can get some more reprints and save me the perils of the second hand market.

My copy arrived yesterday. Really nicely put together, even down to the glossy / matte elements of the front and back cover. Would be on board for more, especially a couple of volumes for Eight.

Underwater Menace steel arrived from HMV. Gonna dig in tonight. The new recon seems fab but I've heard really good things (by UWM standards) about the animation.

I hadn't quite realised how late in the year we were getting and hadn't pre-order The Underwater Menace animation, so that's been corrected. I decided to import through Rarewaves, as their international shipping is extremely generous (for Aussies, at least)! I also pre-ordered the new Series 1-4 + Specials remastered set, the 60th anniversary specials set, and The Daleks in Colour, all on Blu-ray. These should keep me going for a while! As a YouTuber who uses Doctor Who video, I like to keep up to date on the latest versions of the episodes, HD or SD. My impression of the Series 1-4 remaster is that they've fixed the playback speed issues from the original 1-4 upscales (from what I understand, they've gone back to the original broadcast masters and upscaled them from scratch), which is something I'm prepared to pay for, on top of the new upscales presumably being generally superior to the old ones. And while I have some interest in the colourised Daleks, I'm also thinking about how I can just desaturate the footage and use it like normal in my videos Three sevenths of The Daleks in HD now is better than none of it for another year or two at minimum!

This just popped up in my FB memories from 10 years ago to the day. A then-early delivery (I miss the BBC Shop...if you only got something a few days early, it felt late!) of the just recovered Enemy Of The World on DVD.

The remastered (and FINALLY at the right speed) RTD era blurays arrived. As did the new Dad's Army release, which animated the missing eps just like Who. A lot of the same team.

Yes, I know that makes me a Stupid Boy, but Don't Panic, I'll send out the platoon to search the surrounding area for DVDs.
EDIT: 'No need for that Captain Mainwaring, I've got one in 'ere. 5 animated episodes, quality black and white, in the case, to you squire - £14.99, can't say fairer than that.'
I think I might just take Walker up on his offer!

A Stripe For Frazer was animated WAY back in 2015, I talked about it back then. It was on the BBC's Store which was a folly. An amazing back catalogue but a streaming service in 2015 launching with a "pay per item" model was nonsense when people knew the Iplayer, Netflix etc. i don't think it went 6 months. So that killed the animation range (sound familiar?) but now the costs have come down and tech is better, they've finished them. And the Room At The Bottom episode is in colour for the first time. So - plenty of reasons to pick this up. DVD only, but that's fine. The same missing eps were remade by Gold 4 years ago or so. They're on disc from Network and since they've closed down, if you want those? Best snap them up before they vanish or go for crazy money like a lot of Network titles.

I wasn't on here in 2015 so that explains that! I've got the blu-ray of the remade episodes thanks, but that's A Stripe for Frazer, Under Fire and The Loneliness of the Long Distance Walker. I thought that was all that were still missing, three not five?
EDIT: Ooh plus two animated Christmas shorts, or I suppose we'd call them minisodes now. I've never seen or heard these at all!

Series 1-4 set is much improved. Picture quality is a slight improvement, which was to be expected, but the real value is everything plays at the right speed and the sound is much better. Any licence issues aside, seems like the episodes with issues have been corrected. For example, Born Again is the transmitted version, not the rough cut. The addition of the podcast commentaries on the 2009 specials is a pleasant surprise. I wish they’d managed to add the additional disc from the 2009 specials steelbook - which I never bothered with - that contained The Infinite Quest & Dreamland animations, The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith and a new David Tennant interview; to streamline the shelf space further if nothing else!
The new feature with Tennant & RTD is lovely, albeit brief.

I just ordered that DVDs of the 60th Anniversary specials from a UK seller. Will take around 2 weeks to arrive here. So I finally can also watch these episodes.
I find it a MAJOR turn-off and bummer that I would have to subscribe to Disney+ to be able to watch, but since my motivation for Who has declined in the past year, I honestly do not mind to wait. I just keep away from spoilery discussions and want to limit my social media, anyways. I just refuse to get another Streaming service for as long as I can.
