Interesting Dorney just Tweeted to the effect that boxsets with the story format of (1 story across 1 boxset) like Wicked Sisters, 9DA The Ravagers and 6DA The Eleven Won't be the usual Format going forwards. Regards mark687 That's... interesting. Personally I loved the format of Wicked Sisters. Here's Dorney's tweet: He was replying to someone asking about the 4DAs, so maybe he just meant that won't be the 4DAs format. I was really hoping there'd be a mixture of Wicked Sisters-style sets and anthology sets for the new ranges for each Doctor. Perhaps you could elaborate, dorney...?

It would be nice for every Doctor to get a series, like the Dalek Universe is for the Tenth Doctor and what the Fourth Doctor has each year.
They can mix it up with the companions and don’t have them all the time, intersperse with one off Wicked Sisters or The Eleven style stand alone sets.

Currently there are no plans for 7th Doctor content for 2021 as Sylvestor has issues with internet, with his home only getting a basic connection. (which confuses me as we had The Grey Man of the Mountain recorded in July 2020. Even if Sylvestor did that in a studio, it still then raises the question as to why he can’t keep using studios

I'd still think they'd be writing 7th stories. Just so they can be approved and then once McCoy is ready and everything's calm, he has a good stack to do

So with the first four Ninth Doctor Adventures boxsets being treated as a 'series', and Dalek Universe likewise, I'm thinking this might be the route they go down with the boxset ranges.
We already know that Jac Rayner's producing an 'arc storyline' for Sixie, that the Fifth Doctor will have Forty, and that the Second Doctor will have stories set between The War Games and Spearhead From Space, but does anyone have any thoughts about what we could see for the other Doctors?
I'm hoping for some Ninth Doctor Adventures-style series, where they're standalone episodes, but can fit into an era, that can be dipped in and out of throughout various boxsets. I think this is where the main strength of the boxset format will be. Thoughts?

Having a 3x3 set series for each Doctor makes perfect sense from a subscription point of view and elevates each Doctor to the same status as the Fourth and Eighth Doctor. No longer just having stories set in gaps, but series set in those gaps.

The 20-30 minute sweet spot can work very well with this Doctor, I think.

I kind of feel like Sylvester has been a bit underserved for a while. Be nice if he returns in 2022 with a bang, some nice big story arc.

Well, we know we have that Last Days of the Seventh Doctor story arc/boxset(?) to look forward to at least.

I’d like to see a push away from stories that fit perfectly into an era.
Something more along the lines of the Dalek universe and Ravagers.
They’ve broken the mold with the moves to boxsets, I hope Big Finish takes full advantage of the opportunity they’ve created.

Very true during the beginning of the main range the 6th Doctor and Evelyn adventures felt like their own thing and didn’t feel like the fit the 1985-86 era and it was much better for it

Been thinking how much I loved the Seven/Hex/B&W TARDISes/Gods & Monsters story arc, and how much I miss that approach.

And for the Fifth Doctor there was Peri and Erimem, then the older Nyssa stories. Both of which I really enjoyed and would love to see more of a missing series feel to the range.

Was just looking at the preorders in my account and....boy does it ever look sparse not having a new MR release to look forward to every month. I'm not sure I realized how much I was going to miss that reassuring constant drip.

Re: McCoy, it seems to me that his lack of professional-grade recording equipment might be an opportunity. Why not follow the example of Blink or, perhaps more appropriately, LIVE 34 and do some Doctor-lite stories where he's not physically present in the scenes, but interacting at with the narrative at key points via radio or some other telecommunications device? You could at least get a boxset out of something like that, and McCoy could deliver his lines via a phone.
And even via phone, the audio quality would probably be too good for this premise and require some additional noise.
Just giving up on doing anything with the 7th Doctor just feels like a monumental waste.

By my reckoning, these are the only classic series stories left that Big Finish hasn’t done some kind of sequel/prequel or tie-in to- {Spoiler-tagged for length} The Edge of Destruction Marco Polo The Aztecs The Reign of Terror Planet of Giants The Rescue The Romans The Crusade The Space Museum The Chase The Myth Makers The Massacre The Ark The Gunfighters The Smugglers The Power of the Daleks The Highlanders The Underwater Menace The Macra Terror The Faceless Ones The Evil of the Daleks The Abominable Snowmen The Enemy of the World Fury from the Deep The Wheel in Space The Dominators The Space Pirates The War Games The Ambassadors of Death Colony in Space The Mutants The Time Monster Invasion of the Dinosaurs The Sontaran Experiment Planet of Evil The Face of Evil Underworld The Ribos Operation The Pirate Planet The Stones of Blood The Androids of Tara City of Death The Creature from the Pit Nightmare of Eden The Leisure Hive Meglos Four to Doomsday Kinda Black Orchid Time-Flight Mawdryn Undead The King’s Demons The Awakening Planet of Evil The Twin Dilemma Attack of the Cybermen The Two Doctors Timelash Delta and the Bannermen Silver Nemesis Battlefield Ghost Light Survival Give me a long list and I'll give you too many thoughts: First there are a few they've already done: The Rescue - The Crash of the UK-201 The Chase - I mean... the Mechanoids have shown up a few times, Return of the Rocket Men has prequel elements for Steven. Not sure what else you could do! The Faceless Ones - the Chameleons showed up in a Torchwood The Abominable Snowmen - The Secrets of Det-Sen, coming soon! The Wheel in Space - Legend of the Cybermen, kind of... and also the Zoe CCs kind of Kinda - The Cradle of the Snake
Then there are the Historicals (Marco Polo, The Aztecs, The Reign of Terror, The Romans, The Crusade, The Myth Makers, The Massacre, The Gunfighters, The Smugglers, The Highlanders and Black Orchid) which, unless the Doctor appears in the same spot and meets the same people, are pretty hard to write a sequel for. EDIT: I should note, though, that Lawrence Miles followed up a Highlanders plot point in Alien Bodies, BBC Books did two different prequels to the Romans and the Virgin Missing Adventures as well as our own Tim Bradley have returned to the world of Black Orchid, so it's not impossible! Also I've no idea how you'd pre/sequelize The Edge of Destruction. Or Planet of Giants given that Candy Jar did the other (full-sized) side of the story already! But here's the ones on the list I think deserve SPECIAL MENTIONS:The Ark - Monoids have appeared in a Benny, but there's definitely room for a sequel about Refusis!
The Power of the Daleks - "Return to Vulcan" has a certain ring to it...
The Macra Terror - more Macra!
The Evil of the Daleks - DWM did a cool followup with the Humanized Daleks but there's still some room for creativity.
The Enemy of the World - Titan's already brought back Salamander, but I'd like to see more of the world of 2018!
The War Games - this one's surprising to me, I feel like the War Lords could come back in a big way (personally I want to see them turn into Peace Lords during the Time War)
The Ambassadors of Death - should we explain the ambiguous aliens? Does that rob them of their mystery? Trick question, of course we should.
The Time Monster - apparently BF flirted with the idea of including a Chronovore in Legacy of Time... Only a matter of time I think!
The Leisure Hive - give me more Foamasi dangit
Time-Flight & The King’s Demons - such an opportunity for Master/Kamelion stories set between these two!
Battlefield - if the Beeb allowed BF to cast a Distant Future Merlin Doctor, I'd lose my mind.
Hello everyone!
Tim.
