Seems worth noting that the episode of QI Barrowman recorded prior to... all this is currently scheduled to air for the first time on BBC Two on the 23rd September. It's possible that nobody in scheduling got the memo and it'll be replaced with another episode when they realise. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000zypqNot only have they not cancelled the episode, they've updated the page from their generic Toksvig and Davies on deck chairs image with a big ol' photo of JB himself. JHD is going to love the word "Shady" being underneath. And "Shaky" for his...never mind...  Suggests the BBC hush order is over. I wonder if this will precipitate an update on Absent Friends... |

How quick the BBC seem to forget. Angus Deayton got sacked for his behaviour, so did Richard Bacon. It seems being a pervert during the making of a family show is fine? But I do not see this as an indication that Absent Friends or any Doctor Who related appearances are forthcoming/will be released. Then again the BBC obviously do not care that much if they are allowing this broadcast to go ahead. |

I know lots of his fans thought all this was funny but I DO NOT. But yeah, lets just all move on... |

I dunno if I’d read anything on future of Absent Friends into Barrowman appearing on QI. The BBC isn’t really a monolith; Doctor Who and it’s licensees seem to be managed by BBC Studios these days. QI is made by an external production company and I guess people who run BBC2 specifically handle its broadcast. Unless the BBC has an uniform organisation wide policy on Barrowman, there may well be discrepancies like him popping up on QI whilst he’s still persona-non-grata for Doctor Who licences.

Here’s a compromise for you. We release Absent Friends but include with every release a dartboard with John Barrowman’s face on it. You know, to help those people who aren’t a fan of the man exercise their frustrations.
Practically a win-win for everyone involved. Couldn’t possibly fail! 😉
