Maths monkey that I am, I've just some quick calculations (for CD in Aus, but the conversions expenses/savings would equal out to be the same thing in all countries/territories) : 1) The 14-release bundle is actually more expensive than just buying each release separately(!). EDIT: This only seems to be true in Australia. UK customers make more of a saving with the bundle (I wish I could explain why that is, but I honestly don't know!)2) The 10-release bundle plus the Fifth Doctor bundle and the Fourth Doctor bundle is slightly more expensive than the 14-release bundle (so you're still better off going with single releases) 3) The 2-releases bundles (First and Second Doctor, 2x Third Doctor, 2x Fourth Doctor, etc.) is the same price as the 10-release + Fourth Doctor + Fifth Doctor bundle in point 2. If you want to get the releases for an individual Doctor though, the 2-release bundle is cheaper than getting the two releases separately. So, in terms of making the most of your money, you're best off just buying all the releases as separate products in the same order at the same time. Despite your per order charge, my calcs say you make a saving of $35! (The bundle seems pretty disingenuous, being more expensive than the single items. Most people probably aren't going to bother checking the other options, so it kind of feels like they're trying to cheat people out of their money...) _______ Now, as to the announcement itself: it looks like we're actually getting a reduction in the number of discs in for Doctors 5, 6, and 7 - 6 discs per year as opposed to the previous 8 (on average). It also doesn't make sense to me why they added the extra discs to next year's Fourth Doctor Adventures, as that means he actually has a higher output than the rest of the Doctors. How that's supposed to "bring him in line with the rest" is beyond me. On the whole though, it's great to finally have some idea what the heck's happening with Doctor Who at Big Finish next year. If I'm honest though, I truly believe this new way of separating everyone out like this is more confusing than the Main Range, but I guess it's far too late to complain about that now

Bit sparse on the details. I need a little more than that before I get excited...
I notice in the news story that it appears Nick’s job title has changed from Executive Producer to Creative Director. And was David Richardson always “senior producer”? I feel like he’s been ‘just’ a producer for a long time, albeit clearly de facto senior.

None of what BF are doing with the classic Doctors makes any sense to me at all! I'm going to end up buying individual releases and welcoming the concept of "gaps" to my shelves. And possibly buying after release in future - what I lose on postage I gain on not buying things I'm not keen on. Which may not be what BF hoped for from their former subscribers, but the 'miss' rate has been going up recently imo. I wouldn't have bought the recent 1DAs (while I enjoyed 'The Hollow Crown' well enough, I could certainly live without it) or River 8 or a few of last years' MR releases after the comments on here. (And would have been right not to buy, in view of my personal verdicts after listening.)

Well this is all very interesting, I wonder if all of each Doctors boxsets will be linked in an arc or will you be able to dip in and out.

That announcement is a hell of a lot of text whilst telling you next to nothing isn't it? What extra do we know compared to when they announced they were retiring the main range last year and the bits we've managed to gauge from amendments to 4DA Series 11, Forty, etc.? It's basically just hoping that people will impulse buy the bundle, which itself isn't brilliantly priced; I'd expect a bit more than that if I was forking out for 14 sets.
They really could have done with announcing more information on at least a few sets with this, if not at least one for every Doctor. It doesn't have to be a synopsis or that level of detail, but story titles, TARDIS teams, etc. at least give a good idea of what to expect format and variety wise.
With the way they're currently titled on the Big Finish site, I wouldn't be surprised if these essentially rebooted each year. That doesn't necessarily mean certain story strands don't carry on (after all, we don't know because they haven't told us anything!), but I think the idea is to make it accessible each year for new fans, or even those that might not necessarily want to be in the long haul for a certain Doctor and instead are happy to dip in and out as they see fit.
This is more pedantic, but I wish they wouldn't give DWM news if they weren't going to allow DWM to break it. The issue isn't out on shelves until tomorrow and as a subscriber I haven't received mine early. Seems a bit poor form to me.

Good to finally get confirmation that Doctors 3 & 5-7 are getting 2 sets each.
Still not quite sure why people thought that Doctors 5-7 would be getting 3 each.

Although I will definitely be getting the bundle when finances permit

apparently there has been a teaser that John Guilor is involved potentially as The First Doctor so that would be awesome as he was great in Day of the doctor and planet of giants recon

Regards mark687 Just checked Cos House website. Nick is not a company director of Big Finish Productions, so I guess it is just a fancy title only. (Although there is such a thing in company law as a shadow director)

I appreciate that there's a "just gimme everything" button as on payday next week I'm just gonna get rid of the hassle of keeping tabs on this mess and do that I appreciate some say they want more details first..well, we never got that as subscribers - we just bought a lot of "TBAs" in advance so I've no issue with the vagueness of the releases at this point. I and others bought the "super-sub" where we paid literally years in advance not having the slightest idea what for, in good faith. "Beyond War Games" - is this 6B then? The comics set after War Games for the Second Doctor are among my favourite ever.

Well this doesn't really give much away does it. I will definitely be getting 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th Doctor releases. I guess Beyond War Games confirms the 6B theory.
