Just properly read the synopsis for these stories. The premise of War Seed implies the War Doctor and the Time War; potential cameo? If they do go into the Time War, it’s possible they could emerge on the pre-War timeline and that’s how the Nun is involved (since Dalek Universe went to pains to define her as pre-War).

I'm typically pretty skeptical of "gimmick" premises like this one... but on the other hand, an entire set of Michelle Gomez and Rufus Hound? I cannot imagine this being anything short of excellent.
Honestly the ultimate goal here is to make the Monk a permanent (or near-permanent) companion for Missy. Then segue that into the Monk getting his own range.

Honestly i think i am sick of Rufus Hound- he feels like he is suppose to be this comedic character and
that's the thing that gets me is that they treat The Monk as if he is the comic relief villain (i mean both his predecessors Peter Butterworth and Graeme Garden played the character seriously in their stories) and i think that its the character has become a sort of Flanderisation (a parody of himself)

The Missy range really is shaping up be the comedic spin off of Doctor Who, isn’t it?

They do give Missy some cracking lines... But I can only take her a bit at a time. 3 hours in a sitting would be waaaaay too much to take in.

Body and Soulless
This story just didn’t do much for me. Missy has some larks and is later revealed to have planned a bit more than first appearance, but plot-wise this feels pretty aimless till the very end. Missy and the Monk’s dynamic isn’t quite as sharp as it’s been before, I wonder if we’re getting too much of a good thing.

Couldn’t agree more about Body and Souless, sherlock. I’d even go as far to say it’s quite dull, which Missy should never, ever be. War Seed isn’t much better either, to be honest. It shows potential, but in the end it’s just as plodding as the previous story. The Seed has so much untapped potential and everything else feels unbaked and uninteresting. At least we’ll probably get a decent War Master story out of the idea at some point. And it doesn’t improve with Two Monks One Mistress, unfortunately. There’s still a distinct lack of spark between Missy and the Monk that’s a complete contrast to the two stories they’d shared in volumes 1 and 2. And the interaction between the Monk and Nun isn’t particularly engaging either, it’s just generic and feels like it exists solely to build up to them having their own set, frankly. I’m glad Missy’s got her Master TARDIS back, though it’s reminded me of the 7 stories I’ve had to sit and listen through to get back to that point! Yeah, this set is a big disappointment. It’s all so aimless and not terribly interesting. I also can’t think of a better word than lifeless; the interactions between Missy and any other character lacks spark and at times it feels like everyone recorded separately and was edited together. The music and sound design is lacking throughout and suffers from the same issue as volume 2, where it’s heavily reused from previous episodes and also The Paternoster Gang. Joe Kraemer is a brilliant asset to Big Finish, so it’s a shame to have this happen twice now. One of those very rare misfires from Big Finish where it’s lacking in every aspect of the production. And it pains me to say that because at the very least Missy should always entertain and steal the show. A real shame.

Finished the set and honestly wanted to like it more than I did.
War Seed Its fine. It doesn’t do anything particularly groundbreaking but just tells a fairly enjoyable story that I will have forgotten entirely soon. Just like most of Missy Series 2.
Two Monks, One Mistress Ok this is where the portrayal of the Monk started to grate. He’s an absolute idiot here. Yes he’s primarily a comedic b-tier Doctor Who villain and doing daft schemes is his thing, but he’s so utterly dumb here it’s difficult to believe why he ever posed any kind of threat to anyone. It’s not even dumb in a funny way, the main joke (repeated several times) is he’s the only one not to see through a terrible disguise. Oh my sides. There’s little dynamic with Missy to be spoken of here either. Yeah I can say confidently we had too much of a good thing with Hound’s Monk in this comedic style.
The Nun is here as she was in Dalek Universe. She’s fun here, but I suspect like Hound’s Monk she would wear fine after multiple appearances. If the ending is setting up a spin-off, I’m not pre-ordering. Her timeline also makes no sense now but going by what writers have said on Twitter that’s the point, so ok.
Oh and Missy’s here too. She just doesn’t do much of note here and I’m not even sure why she wanted the plutonium. Also how did she come to lose the location of the Master TARDIS? Did she just forget where she parked it prior to Brimstone and Terror? Anyway her going back to the TARDIS means pretty much everything in this series since The Lumiat didn’t really matter, which is a bizarre direction after Series 1 built itself something of an ongoing narrative. Maybe now they’ll come up with a reason why Missy wanted it in the first place...or maybe they’ll just do more random escapades.
And honestly the lack of any kind of reasoning for Missy’s antics beyond, well for fun, is annoying to. It feels like she has no real stakes in anything that happens cos she’s only there for the flimsiest of reasons.
I feel like I’m being really harsh here but frankly, after a brilliant debut set and two increasingly lesser sets it’s hard not to be. Big Finish have proven they can do really good stories for Missy that are both irreverent and somewhat meaningful, and just haven’t lived up to that since.

The first set felt really dynamic with the new music but now it’s just ‘oh it’s that track again’. I honestly wonder if they just commissioned one library of tracks for use in this entire range as I can’t recall anything new in Series 2 or 3.
