Its simple really! I will continue to pre-order stuff i want up until the deadline. When the new prices are implemented (Whatever they are?) and as of now we have no idea! Then i can make a judgement call,as we all can,if i am not impressed with the new prices i will just be more picky and buy less.I see no reason for mass-hysteria,or people getting their knickers in a twist! Lets wait and see.

Besides, most of this forum doesnt wear knickers - commando was the winner of a poll. Dont search...it was deleted Now Im off to burn an effigy of a BF lunch!

Ok.. Just going to do a casual comparison from the weekly deals just announced. (all prices in Aussie $). 4th Doctor "The Darkness Of Glass" CD+D/L amount shows as $8.75 "Postage & Packaging" is $2.63 "Per Order Charge" is $11.41 So $8.75 becomes $22.79 (plus the price increases slightly when the credit card companies converts on their end- it can take a couple/few business days for the price to settle when I log in and check my credit card). Digital only shows as $8.99 So the digital version is initially more expensive than the physical product! I can't keep up anymore LOLZ!

I am not 100% sure if the price I quoted yesterday was including the current "weekly deals" $ale price. would be interesting to compare in 8 days time in all seriousness.
This confusion etc gets a bit frustrating at times.
Can I ask when you UK'ers do an order over $50 what does it say on your order form? Does it mention something about "free postage"? Genuinely interested to know here.
Thanks,

Can I ask when you UK'ers do an order over $50 what does it say on your order form? Does it mention something about "free postage"? Genuinely interested to know here. In the UK an order over £50 doesn’t get free postage. There’s a postage charge added for each item in the order, up to a maximum of £4. Bundles and pre-orders are postage free, regardless of the price. We get 10% off for over £50, with caveats that the discount doesn’t apply to subscriptions or bundles or items on an offer. It did used to apply to sales items but they stopped that a while ago now. All that is why I typically wait till the end of most months before putting in an order for that months box sets. Say there’s four box sets in a month, all £24.99. I could pre-order each and pay a few pennies short of £100. Or I let them all be released, and add them to an order. I’ll have a postage charge of £4 but I’ll get 10% off, so total paid is just under £94. This £6 or so saving… every three or four months that adds up to an extra box set. Since I’m seldom ready to be listening on day of release to anything, I’m fine with waiting. I pre-order when there’s a incentive to do so such as foreboding warnings about how limited edition an item is - usually months later the item is still not sold out. I pre-order when there is a bundle price that is cheaper than full price less 10% plus postage. There’s a few ranges bundled that way but plenty aren’t. All too often bundles are only a 5% saving, or less. War Master 7 is out this month, volume 8 later this year. Each are £24.99 to pre-order, or £48 in a bundle. That’s only saving 4%. War 7 will be in my June order and will cost me £23.30. I’ll save £7 this month on pre-order prices. I’m exactly the sort of person who’d pre-order bundles way more often if there were better incentive/bribes like signed copies or bonus content or just an actual cost saving in doing so. This price-rise announcement sounds like maybe pre-ordering will become solely a way of showing support for BF. I’m happy with the many thousands I’ve given them over the years. Also there’s plenty times I do still pre-order like for the marquee releases with Eccleston and Tennant. For me BF is competing with steelbooks and the season blu-rays and the 4Ks of the Dalek films. There’s new Targets next month, and BBC audiobooks and vinyls and that’s just the Who stuff. I’m no Davy G (who, other than him, really is?) but I also dabble in and aspire to be a collector of music and film box sets too. And classic/cult/archive TV releases. Plus there’s just general new films and albums. And occasionally I have to eat too. And I have a dog to feed. And a wife, one who doesn’t at all understand this collecting lark. So every saving helps.

So long as it doesn't cross over into personal attacks on the staff (which nothing here has done), then no, I don't see an issue with being critical of a company's decisions.

Great Reply reasonable solution for you and its probably a situation BF would hope to avoid becoming a widespread pattern as one assumes that they need regular reasonable lump sums of cash flow, rather then every few months. It's interesting and to mix metaphors will they lengthen the stick of raising prices but at the same time add some kind of new sweet incentive for buying early and or regular. Regards mark687

Regards mark687 I think some sort of loyalty scheme would be really good - maybe you get a certain number of points for each purchase you make, and you can eventually claim discounts/bonus releases with these points?

I think they’ve said a loyalty scheme and gift cards are a restriction of the website. There’s another discussion to be had about how they handled the implementation and scalability of that, but let’s not go there…! It is a shame, though, as I think there’s a lot of untapped custom to be had by implementing those. It’s psychological but if you got a stamp for every tenner spent then I’d definitely be tempted to do orders a few sets at a time and add a bigger chunk of money to Big Finish. Similarly I’d love to be able to gift sets as it’s much easier than trying to lend someone a CD or trying to get them to jump onto a sale and spending their own money without being 100% sure.

I was trying to work out what, if anything, I might want to pre-order before the price rises come in & was using the What's New section of the BF website, flicking forward though the months.
The Fugitive Dr and the Dhawan Master releases aren't on it as far as I can see, presumably because their release date is still TBA.
So my question is, are there any other announced releases that are available for pre-order but not showing on the What's New section of the website? Or is there a way to search for announced but unscheduled releases on the BF website?
Can anyone advise?

Is it only stuff already available for pre-order and due to be released after 1 November that will be affected?
Will new announcements between now and 1 November for stuff coming out after 1 November offer a pre-order price that will increase after 1 November, or will they all just be announced at the new post November pre-order price from the off?
Or do we not know this?
