Finished Darth Vader #25
Super cool. Some lovely codas and wraps up the serie very nicely. We're getting an exciting spinoff from the book which I won't mention as it might spoil who does and who doesn't make it out alive.

I'm not following the whole HydraCap thing. Does it feel stretched out at all, or is it progressing at a good pace? Nightwing is great. Now that the Monster Men crossover is done there's more Raptor, an appearance by Superman and a return to Bludhaven to look forward to. I've got the most recent trade for Grayson, vol. 4 A Ghost in the Tomb. On the Marvel side, Civil War II is taking forever and hasn't done much to engage me so far. Carol is being an idiot for the sake of perpetuating the conflict and Marvel need to stop bigging up the Inhumans the way they are just because Fox has the film rights to the X-Men. Marvel ran the Fantastic Four comics into the ground, and don't seem to be interested in building it back up.

The Darth Vader series was a big surprise to me; I never expected it to be sooo good. It made Darth Vader the big bad that he was back in the late 70's/early 80's and was a very enjoyable read. It's a pity that this series has to end, but Marvel are doing a great job with their Star Wars comics this time, they are essential reads. Looking forwad that spin-off now too!

Doctor Who: Tales From The TARDIS
I think The 10th Doctor: The Witch In The Well Part One was probably my favourite of the strips this month.

Serenity: No Power in the 'Verse #1, variant cover with the whole crew. New material with these wonderful characters is simply a delight.
Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #7, the conclusion to the opening Sinestro's Law arc. A very interesting conclusion, and a re-read of whole arc is in order. Also, Guy finally gets some pants on!

Green Lanterns #10. The Phantom Lantern storyline is coming along nicely and is better than the opening Rage Planet arc. At least the constant intros at the start of each issue aren't present (they weren't present last issue, but that was setting up the antagonist for this arc). The concept of the Phantom Ring is very interesting. I'm developing a couple of theories about the ring and the storyline. I loved the touch where the page with Simon cycling through the emotions has him getting into the Indigo Tribe language when hitting compassion.

Are people using the Comixology app? I never got around to downloading it, and when I looked the other day, it asked for credit card info in order to install. Is there only a paid option now, or can you still read previously purchased comics on the app for free, without signing up for their "unlimited reading" offer?

No, you can still read free or previously purchased comics through the Comixology app, they only look for credit card details as they would like to think that you will buy some comics! But if you only get/download free comics then you will not be charged anything.

From what I'm reading in the app reviews, you still can't make in-app purchases of new comics you want; you have to go to the website to do that, according to these reviews. Is that correct or do those reviewers just not know how to carry out an in-app purchase?

Is that correct or do those reviewers just not know how to carry out an in-app purchase? You can buy comics directly through the Comixology app on Android but not on iOS. (Apple want 30% of in-app sales, Amazon don't want to pay Apple that.) So if it is iOS app reviewers tgat you are on about, then they are correct. The Android Comixology app is a lot better than the iOS app in that regard. Comixology have asked for credit card details in advance for a long time, well before their 'Unlimited' service, which is only a recent gimmick to hook you in. Although you can also link your Amazon account to Comixology and it uses whatever payment method you have set up on that. (Comixology is owned by Amazon of course.)

Okay, than that makes sense. Yeah, I knew Comixology is owned by Amazon. Thanks for the info, @stevo . My son informs me that the Marvel, DC and Image individual iOS apps do allow you to buy digital comics direct through the respective apps, but the in-app purchase cost is passed on to the customer, so a title generally costs about 30c more... however, they are all linked in to your Comixology account/app as Comixology runs the Marvel, DC and Image comics apps.
